If you have a drop from chest to waist, don’t get the Highwayman. I had one but it was just too boxy for me, even with smaller turnings. The 1930’s half-belt fit me much better.
Selling my gently used Aero Highwayman Brown Steerhide 42. Worn probably 10 times. Style is just too boxy and heavy for my taste. I’m 5’10, 190lb with a 43in chest and 34in waist.
Modifications below:
Size 42 with smaller turnings (more of a taper in waist)
Brown cotton drill in body and...
Excellent condition size 44 30's halfbelt (not sure if right name of style) medium smooth cowhide. Jacket weighs around 4.5lbs. Looks like brown moleskin lining. Really dark brown leather, almost looks black.
Sold.
This briefcase is new and was purchased from their "seconds" page. The only issue is that the person who installed the copper rivets didn't have a lot of experience. They are all functional, but not installed pretty. Comes with shoulder, backpack, and luggage strap. Beautiful veg tan leather...

From my experience, if you have arms larger than 16in, stick with the highwayman. The half belt can be worn, but only with a t shirt or a thin button up shirt. Don't even think about the flight jackets. The sleeves were nearly bursting and the body was way too boxy.

Chromexcel is not the leather for you. It will show wear marks very quickly. I personally like the character that develops with this leather. It is by no means an inferior leather and is considered one of the best leathers you can buy. I have an AL smooth steerhide that is drum dyed all the...
I also have a AL Arkansas in smooth steer. It is very soft and only weighs 4.6lbs. Very comfortable, but I don't expect to see a lot of character development with wear. It is definitely a more formal leather.
I have a 43in chest and 34in waist (weightlifter) and went with a 42 Highwayman that tapered an inch on each side. It fits me very well, but doesn't leave much room to layer. I never wear more than a shirt underneath, so it works for me. I also owned a 44in aero a-2 awhile back, but it was so...
What's the deal with Aero Adventures, on ebay, selling AL jackets. They seem to be selling them for substantially less than through AL directly. Are these jackets made by apprentices, use cheaper leather, test jackets, etc...?
