They were the better quality boots. I think they just didn't account for either the size of the uptake, or how hard people would wear them when they would be replaced for free and therefore didn't need looking after....- Edward

Generation X, I remember when I loved that the big film was on BBC, because no ads to spoil it. Then I got older, and ads were welcome because I could go for a pee at half time and miss nothing. What killed DMs was the buyer, really. The market demanded they remain - as they did for years - at £45 a pair. I had a pair of British Gulf War I (Desert Storm) era roughouts years ago that I bought from a surplus place and left in the wardrobe for a few months, waiting for Summer. Yeah, I have mine on a paypal 3 in 1.... that's become a dangerous thing, that! The College V is totally something I would wear to the office in Winter, but I'll have to wait for the Far East version. Anyone else hating the hot weather
A couple of wet days this week and lower temperatures were very welcome. I rather foolishly went out to an all-day gig last week wearing an A3 cap instead of a full brim and no suncream.
