All sizes 38R-48R are again in stock of what has become my favorite Eastman-made lightweight flying jacket. The vegetable-tanned capeskin's character, inherent properties of super-comfiness and durability, along with the perfected subtleties of the TimeWear process and classic styling, simply...
Why are you perusing ELC prices when we are a sponsoring affiliate of this forum right here in the USA??? Price from us is $1, 350.00, which includes customs duty, processing fees, currency-conversion fees, etc. to get these into the USA. Hmmm... (scratches head)
The popular Ostmann is fully replenished. Brown remains the #1 seller since it was reintroduced in 2017.
Please checkout the photos below. The jacket is a size 40R and my body details are as follows: chest 40", waist 30", height 5' 9" tall, weight 150 lbs., shirt-sleeve measure 33", and my...

Thank you for the inquiry, Kowalski. I am sorry, but I am not really sure what you are illustrating. Please draw an arrow or outline on the phots so I may better understand what you are asking. Presently, I don't see any difference between the two. Thanks.
If I am understanding what you are describing, then it's not a depot re-dye. Your intro to this topic mentions this look as common on Aero contracts: reddish undercoating beneath dark brown dye. This was performed by the original leather contractors before the leather was turned into an A-2...
You are most welcome, Seb; I'm happy to share this info. Yes, as the T. O. states, this was a cosmetic procedure to create a more uniform appearance, with the repair work being to make the goods fully serviceable and to precede the dye work.
You could do this at home, but you'd need to...
There is quite a lot of misinformation in the replies on this thread, with a fair amount of unsubstantiated information stated as fact.
1) I shall start with the color terminology, which I have discussed on this forum before. There was only one seal brown in the eyes of the Army, but postwar...
Buzz Rickson’s brand has painstakingly recreated the “Advisor” trousers made famous by ARVN and Special Forces units during the Vietnam War, in the coveted “Golden” tiger-stripe camouflage.
These look totally killer when paired with one of our Whitesville vintage-style tee shirts in black...
This shirt is special because we are offering this in two colors - brown or navy, and it marks the first style to be offered by Sun Surf in size XXL in over 10 years...
These low-top basketball shoes (sneakers) were a true item of athletic issue for U. S. Army basketball players in the 1970's, but produced in white and never in camouflage. The designers at Buzz Rickson's decided to reproduce these sneakers in exacting form utilizing their amazing "Golden"...
We are very excited to offer this vintage tee-shirt graphic featuring the Bell YFM-1 Airacuda. The Airacuda was one of the most intriguing, attractive, innovative fighter planes of the 1930's; while less than 20 were produced, it was highly trumpeted and published at the time, though graphics on...
Oh, you are most welcome; I'm always happy to clear up anything. I just edited the reply with some additional info. related to thickness vs. weight, which you may find interesting.
That is coming from Gary Eastman. He still maintains the weight to be 3 ounces, as far as I know. In Gary's mind, 3 ounce is the correct weight, at least when the product info. was developed.
I should also add it's a bit irrelevant today regarding the terminology, because as I understand it...
Totally agree that thickness usually has a direct correlation to weight. I've only noticed the disparity noted with hides in the current era, not vintage, and tanning processes were indeed different between them) chrome, chrome w/ veg re-tan, and full veg. There may be something at hand...
Please accept my sincere apologies for the error made in addressing my reply not to you but to CBI. I was thinking about the OP and my mind left my fingers to their own devices. :-(
