A comment re sizing.
BRIGHT themselves suggest to size down on their website. After speaking with Martin, the owner, he advised to take the same size as my RW Iron Rangers.
Unfortunately, while this may have worked ‚in theory‘, I couldn’t get the boots on (plastic bag or no), due to a narrow...
I should add that @Marc mndt has done a much more thorough review of his BRIGHT Engineers in December under a separate thread, so please do have a look for a deep dive.
So, this is the newest addition to the family: BRIGHT SHOEMAKERS Engineers in Rough out/reverse Rough out combination.
I was looking for a second pair of Engineers for a while now, but never found any that fitted the way I liked. I have a pair of Mr Lou‘s that are just perfect in every aspect...
Cool, thanks. I’ve had countless Horween CXL jackets, from heavy to super heavy. Yours looks like a pretty wearable middle ground. This leather ages like no other (the back already shows the potential), so you should be happy for years to come.
Somebody made one hell of a deal here. Hope it fits (and won’t get flipped).
I love my blue Y2 Western, but the price is not even in the same hemisphere let alone ballpark.
Congrats to both buyer and seller!
Just like the Mulholland. I know I am repeating myself but to use a zipper that has proved its inadequacies beyond doubt is just nonsensical for jackets well over USD 2.000.
Congrats! Probably my favourite jacket in their lineup. Perfect fit, I dare say.
How is the zipper? Looks a bit fiddly, which always stresses me out in an expensive jacket.
Hmm, fit is so subjective...
I will try my best here:
The 1950s patterns generally are more boxy/roomy than the 1930s. Body is more square, armholes are lower (albeit not to an extent that range of motion is impaired), arm diameter is larger. Layering should be no problem if you get the right...
Here’s the rule of thumb that works for me:
- 1930s cut: my usual size
- 1950s: one size down
- Premier Range: one size up.
E.g., my default size is 42. The above sizes will al result in an Aero with a P2P of 23“ approx., despite being tagged 40, 42, 44 respectively.
Holly‘s suggestion to go...
My fave in Aero´s Shearling lineup (but for the Coastal Command which cannot be topped). Suits you well, but you’re absolutely right: sizing up would practically drown you!
Very beautiful colours on the leather and shearling too!
Sorry to hear about your health issues. COVID is a bummer.
This! It’s a style that usually comes with some extra room in the chest. Going for a more fitted design in the next jacket should be the way to go. I am sure you will appreciate having this jacket to play the layering game.
Yes, a hair roomy. I am sure, you could loose 0,5“ all around.
That said, this would be the tolerance for most makers anyhow, so you may end up with a very, very similar fit.
The jacket looks good on you as it is, and personally, I would be happy with it. Throw a jumper on, and enjoy the...
I too think, the jacket fits well. New knits at the waist are a good idea. If nothing else, an A2/G1/M422A need to fit tight at the waist. Sometimes a stiff (horse)hide puts too much strain on a loosely knitted waist.
I wouldn’t change anything else. You can check on different...
Very good fit, IMO. Camera angle etc. may be deceiving, so you may want to try to get photographed by somebody else or use a timer, but from what I see you should be happy.
