It really is a wonderful way to travel. It always makes me think of what it would have been like to travel by train in the steam era. Probably not a whole lot different than it is today.
Years ago, there was a Stetson Ermine with the seal and tails and documentation on ebay. The hat was a beautiful light silverbelly, and was in size 6 7/8. The starting bid was something like $3,000. It had documentation and pictures with it showing how it was given to a pre-Castro Cuban...
NEWS FLASH
Saturday, 0500 hours. I was tootling around on a "Scouting Mission". Scouting for "deals", that is. I had awakened early, hoping to "score big" on some killer deals at my local estate/yard sales. This is can be a cut throat business, so I was armed to to teeth.

Excellent finds, Lefty. Rundquist's Skyline Blue hat is one of my alltime favorites. I still have a swatch of it that I drool over occasionally. Wish I had bought one in that color.
Thanks, Lefty. All of these actually have threads associated with them (and lots more pictures) in the Lounge archives. In fact, there are many, many more Optimos that have threads devoted to them from around 2003-2004. Rundquist in particular has more Optimos than anybody I know, and has posted...
