That’s an interesting story that your wife related @Deacon211. It reminds me of a Navy sea story: it was 1985, I was stationed aboard a Navy tugboat. Women were not allowed as crew aboard ships at that time, but they were allowed aboard harbor tugboats. My tug had a crew of ten, 6 men and 4...
Just a quick word on Marilyn in Korea; she toured the country in January 1954. She performed 10 shows in 4 days, entertaining 100,000 troops. She wore military gear as she traveled, then changed in make-shift dressing “rooms” and performed in pin-up worthy gowns in the 30-degree winter...
Cold rain, wind and fog out in the harbor. Wore my “new” Gibson & Barnes F-82 with a Filson moleskin vest. From the cockpit of an American Airlines Jet to the pilot house of a NYC ferryboat, this leather jacket is still serving as an official uniform :D
For Christmas I gave my wife a BR B-15C jacket; she loves it! The jacket fits her slightly oversized (just like Marilyn Monroe in her B-15 ).
Just got this off the ‘Bay: Gibson and Barnes F-82 jacket (A-2 front, G-1 back) that was worn as a uniform jacket by an American Airlines pilot (pilot’s name and license number embroidered on tag in pocket). Well-made jacket of black goatskin, deep side-entry hand warmer pockets, two inside...
29 degrees and blustery at 5:30am when I started work today and the BR Navy hook-front deck jacket kept me toasty warm. This jacket might just replace my G-1 as my daily work jacket!
I’ve finally obtained one of my “grail” jackets off of eBay: a Buzz Rickson Navy hook-front deck jacket in a rare size 48 (brand new, with tags, at less than half the price of a new one!).

Up for sale on eBay is this genuine Navy/USMC G-1 leather flight jacket that dates to the Vietnam War. No size tag (I believe it is a 1972/1973 Star Sportswear); it measures out to a very large size...

I have this for sale on eBay; it is a genuine military-issue G-1 leather flight jacket made by Schott.
These are pretty rare jackets since, as far as I know, Schott only had one contract for the G-1...
For those of you asking for fit pics, I took these today (note to self: never take fit pics after 4 days of Thanksgiving feasting! I think I’ve gained 10 pounds!!!!).

Up for sale on eBay (I posted a link) is this very rare 1950’s G-1 jacket made by L.W. Foster in a very large size 44 (I am 6’ 1” and weigh 215 lbs and the jacket does fit me).
This jacket was once...
Today I wore a Cockpit “100-Mission” G-1. Mission 101 was 8-hours out in a boat in NY harbor, keeping me warm on a cold blustery day!
The 100-Mission has awesome washed/vintage goatskin and overall the jacket looks quite similar to photos I’ve seen of some WWII Willis & Geiger M-422a jackets.
@ronbo that is a great jacket! I didn’t know that Buzz Rickson ever made the B-15C in a size 48. What age is that jacket?
I have the B-15C in a size 44 and it’s a tad snug (finding one in a size 48 would be the bee’s knees!).
I wore my repro Willis & Geiger M-422 as I battled thru the WORST traffic mess in NJ that I’ve ever seen. Total failure by the unprepared state and city governments, road crews, transportation “experts” and weather guessers. Six inches of snow crippled the Tri-state area. Embarrassing lack of...
