Well, this is weird because comparing measurements listed for say a 641 in 38 regular and 141 in 36 regular, the measurements aren't equal. The sleeves, pit to pit and length don't match up. The shoulders and total length seem to match up though.
Okay I will try the fit guide. My Levi's jacket that fits well, has p2p of 21.5 inches and 19" shoulder and for some reason this one fits *almost* too tight. I can see from some eBay listings that 141 in size 36 has 18 or 18.5 shoulder to shoulder measurement. I think I may need to size up to 38...
I believe you, but why does the 641 look slimmer in terms of body width, and why is the sleeve length shorter than body length by 1" (141 has equal sleeve length to its body length).
I don't know if it's just the outer material draping differently between steerhide and naked cowhide but it...
I wear a suit size of 36 Regular, and my normal outerwear is literally denim jackets. I like the silhouette and material and it is better than polyester or nylon jackets (for me anyways).
I have contemplated on getting a leather jacket and am dead set on getting a Schott 641 or 141. The unique...
That makes sense but also doesn't. I wish there was a international/universal measurement for mens and womens garments used by every decent brand out there.
I will need to get this remeasured again at a reputable clothier or even tailor shop. I had to buy a Moores suit last year (off the rack of course and on sale), but I got 2 measurements at 2 different stores last year. I am either a true 35" chest or a true 36" chest based from two different...
Oh crap, I didn't know this was a thing there! Do you think I can work around this by asking for measurements beforehand for shoulder to shoulder, total length and sleeve length? Assuming the measurements the seller provides equals or looks the same as a medium/small size jacket, it should be ok...
I will have to
I have actually. The only thing that turned me off slightly is more of a style preference of mine, but I really love the look of the large single back panel with the gussets, on 141 and 641. I love that look on the perfecto 613/618 too.
I will have to
If I normally wear a size 36 suit I should go with a sz36 141 *or* a sz38 641? I think I would go with 641 based on the finish of the jacket being more safe to wear if there is light snowfall or rain. I think I'd be terribly upset if hypothetically, I get caught in the rain...
Not quite good sir. I have decided to skip the cross zip style and go with a cafe racer style jacket instead. Now I'm deciding between the 141 and 641. I feel 641 I have to go above one size as it's slim fitted but not sure. Both look great, with the large back panel and underarm footballs.
Look at bike clubs or gangs, and most wear leather jackets or leather vests. Not just me, but many people associate leather jackets with tough guys/gals and associate leather jackets with bikers (gang related and everyday/normal riding clubs).
To be fair even the guy on the bottom is dressed well. Buying power was different back then, so even this poor person is not dressed like crap. Very nice jacket as well.
The Japanese man in the photo looks good in the jacket, but also doesn't look weak at all. He can definitely pull off the...
The Schott Perfecto is a timeless silhouette, clothing pattern imo. Same with the denim trucker jackets and a good sportcoat/blazer. All 3 are timeless looks and goes well with most types of clothing imo.
Not trolling, just leather is a different kind of beast to wear. The amount of used black Perfecto/cross-zips I see on Grailed and eBay is overwhelming, but I can see what happened. Many have failed to wear it well or don't feel confident in it, and likely sold at a loss to recoup some money...
Okay, this makes sense. I will go with a cafe racer, likely one that's worn/second hand but not worn down where it looks like crap. The bonus here is it would be a small monetary loss if I never wear it or don't feel comfortable in it. The upside is if I feel at ease/confident in it, I can wear...
You look good in the jacket btw. I just don't know how to 'be' or 'act' if I wore a leather (cross zip or cafe racer).
A hypothetical scenario; if somebody said something about your jacket or said a negative comment towards you, how would you react? Would you escalate that scenario to physical...
No leather boots for this guy. I will wear with dark brown or black casual sneakers if anything. The leather boots would be too much imo, if it matches the jacket.
See, exactly! You know what I mean then. Double riders on women looks normal, not outta place. On guys, for whatever reason looks off. From my observations in day to day, many men who sport leather are trying to act tough it have stand off demeanor, almost as to live up to the leather jacket...
