same size deerskin is softer but smaller than horsehide, because deer skin is thicker, if you think 42 la brea is too large which is the same problem to me. Go down 1 size for horsehide, that should be alright. 40 horsehide < 42 deerskin< 42 horsehide,- puiyc1203

Freewheelers Centinela Deer Skin
And deer skin is thicker than horsehide they use for jacket, hence the there is not much room in the jacket. However, benefit from the softness of the deer skin, it is rather comfortable. I dont feel that tightness of my belly and back when I wear the centinela 42 horsehide.- puiyc1203

I think 36 is your choice for la brea 1. I find that the sleeve almost reaches the sleeve, 38 the sleeve would be too long. I mean you can try size 36 or let go of this jacket. It is too hard to find 34. and there are other options available.- puiyc1203

If you feel tight on the chest with Mulholland 36 with T-shirt only, la brea 36 is your choice. If you can put a hoodie or sweater or shirt in your Mulholland 36, then la brea 36 is too large for you. Then you should go for 34 or other jackets.
