They go for an awful lot of money, though! And they kill you on shipping.

Another question! I have an inexpensive straw hat, a Panama-style made by Conner, a Conner Jensen Panama Straw Hat. I'm putting a new sweat band in it as I didn't care for the elastic cloth band it came with. But, the brim is rather flat and lacking of character. Is there a way to make a...

How can one rescue a feather? Mine, on my most recent acquisition, looks 'frazzled.' Is there anything that can be done? Thank you!

Since you asked, I don't think it looks very good they way you have it. It recommend you sell it, and get the hat you really want. Life is too short to go around with a hat you're not 100% in to. I think it looks kind of like a caricature of a hat, than an every day hat. The creases are...

Is there a thread or a forum for posting feedback on the site? I've encountered a few clumsy aspects of this site I'd like to feed back to the web designers/programmers. Thanks, jv

You know, I never considered it until now, until you mentioned it. But I confess that I don't know what I would order. I'm still finding my way around hats with the vintage offerings: Fedoras and Homburgs. I'd really like a gray Homburg, but they are few and far between, and very pricey, it...

And where would you put 100 to 200 hat boxes! :). But, sounds like a good price, if you were making and selling enough hats to justify it.

Being a hobbyist - model airplanes, trains, metalworking, woodworking, etc. - I had some cork sheet in inventory. The thinnest is 1/16", which seems perfect for this application. I also have some 1/4" which is way too thick. The 1/16", cut into strips 1 3/8" wide and about 8" long is perfect...

Just a thought, but perhaps you could contact Ultrafino to see if they could extend some kind of wholesale or bulk pricing for their box? They sell what appears to be a very nice hat box, with inserts. I just ordered one, and I can let you know what I think of it once it arrives. The single...

I replaced mine, which was virtually opaque, and "dirty" looking, with 4 gauge vinyl. Unlike wire sizes, vinyl gauge is equivalent to mils, or thousandths of an inch. So, 0.004" thick vinyl. I got a remnant that was 1/2 yard by 54" at Joann's for 75¢. The trickiest part was figuring out how...

O.K., another question - please advise! I'm going to a black tie wedding and bringing three hats: a black Homburg to wear with the tux, a gray Fedora to wear with my medium blue sharkskin suit to the wedding ceremony, and a black Fedora to wear with my gold houndstooth silk/wool blazer and...

    Basics of cleaning....

Could you please elaborate on this? I am new to this topic, and don't understand the distinction between colored hat brushes and others. I have one - a "Redecker Natural Pig Bristle Hat Brush with Oiled Pearwood Handle, 9-1/4-Inches" - bought on Amazon.

Thanks. As I posted in another thread, a miracle happened! I took the home made card stock and paper towel sizing strip out from behind the sweat band and just wore the hat around the house for a couple of hours. After that while it conformed to my head and now I must say it fits perfectly...
