The leather is a bit more stiffer than the horsehide i have from Thedi, but it has softened up a bit the more ive worn it. My horsehide started out the same when new, another year of wear and i reckon the jacket will break in nicely.
@torfjord ,here are some better grain pics that Jin431 had posted on page 12 of this thread https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/post-thedi-leather-jacket-photos-here.99138/page-12#post-2859263
We had ordered the exact same leather "black canneto cowhide washed & waxed "for our jackets back...
That's an awsome jacket. I'm just curious Marc, you state that the leather is hand dyed Bruciato hh. My first Thedi is chest nut brown Italian hh. I'm just wondering if they are the same leather or different, as in some pics they look very similar.
Thanks man. Only pics i have taken close up of this leather was in my original post linked above (there wasnt many close up ones). Will try and take some during the week and upload for you.
Adding some pics of my second Thedi Jacket here , model 127996 in black Canneto cowhide washed and waxed which i received in Dec last year (our summer here in Australia). Have worn it extensively over our recent autumn and winter along with my other jackets. I initially had my reservations...
Body looks slim fit , but the sleeves do not look as slim fitting, maybe its coz as you say "you have a larger torso". I prefer the slim fit , i personally would leave the body as is (may be add an inch more in the chest area) and ask Carrie if she can help you with better sleeve measurements.
Everything looks ok except the sleeves, probably 1 -2 more inches on the sleeves. I am starting to appreciate more and more the "short body" length look on jackets , as long as it doesnt creep up above the belt line. Your body length is fine.
About 5 years ago i came across @Peacoat thread about vintage Us Navy peacoats and the dating on them. I subsequently began my hunt for one. Well.... buying one wasnt enough (just like the leather jackets bug), i ended up purchasing 3, all from Ebay, as that was my only option here down under. I...
I have 2 Aero board racers. A "Seven" and a " Buco J100" design .My chest size is 39 , im inbetween sizes .So i can squeeze into a 38 , but i optioned for size 40 for both jackets.
i agree with Protein Nerds statement, The Board racer are not really ideal for thick layering , but i have worn...
Congrats ! Its a great riding jacket. As you say its soft and supple yet pretty sturdy for riding. I bought mine nearly 10 years ago , its my go to jacket when i ride. Like you said fashion takes a back seat over function when riding. And the vents do work.
I bought the Classic .

I have 3 Vintage US Navy peacoats (one WW2 and 2 Vietnam era) made from 100% Kersey wool. Having one like this would top off my collection. Theodoros is a true artist with leather. Awsome Coat. Perfect fit .
My recently acquired navy coloured shawl collar cardigan from Black Sheep Knitwear https://www.blacksheepknitwear.com/
Amazing quality. Wool is so thick and warm, and pretty heavy for a cardigan.
