Just posted a review of the 5* 1930's Cafe Racer:

So I wanted to run an experiment with FiveStar leather and see how ordering a custom leather jacket would go. Their 1930's Civilian Cafe Racer seemed like a great candidate. I decided to stick to one pattern and order three jackets in the span of three months, making necessary corrections in...
Last week, I sent an email to 5* listing some of the issues; hope they will reply and possibly provide some clarification regarding their choices. However, my biggest gripe with the jacket is the cotton drill liner, which appears to be made for a jacket two sizes larger. Additionally, there...
The jacket is a custom variation on their 1930's civilian cafe racer with waxed premium goat. Almost great but with some bitter sweet notes. I'll post a proper review in few days.
@TankPopper Congratulations on receiving a beautiful and well-fitting jacket as your first custom order from Five Star! My first custom order from Shawn did not see a lot of daylight ;-).
Hey, I'm sorry to hear that. In my limited experience, the shoulder peaks are primarily a function of a large arm opening to slim biceps. However, this can also be amplified by excessive shoulder width. As it has been mentioned many times here, 5 Star will put together any jacket according to...
Thank you! This one doesn't seem to squeak. But it has a bit of a industrial paint smell.
The design is based on 1930's vintage jacket available on their website:

Some dimensions were modified and...
Thank you. I paid $350 without shipping but that included custom pattern adjustment. Shawn quoted $300 for the same work with regular steer hide so I assume $50 up charge.
The Five Star 2mm steer has arrived. And so far, imho, it is the best jacket I have received from Fargham and Shawn. The leather is uniform in thickness, the patterns across the panels work well together and the stitching is on par with jackets 3x the price. I didn't have a chance to wear it...
So this is round 2 with a 2mm steer from Five Star. I made few minor sizing corrections and asked for bottom panels, front and back. Also, I asked for a 4mm stitching pattern with a 6 ply thread. Looks like Fargham and Shawn delivered.
Don't mean to compete with @58panheadfan awesome D pocket Road Master, but here is an update on 2mm brown steer.
I've been wearing it almost everyday for the last 2 weeks. The jacket has been through few workouts, hikes in the sun, rain and lots of everyday wear. So far its not bad. The...
I have a G1 in seal brown goat. I like it although the finish had a plastic feel in the beginning but improved over time. I also used the jacket during outdoor workouts which sped up the breaking in process ;-)
Never had a horse in seal brown but just sold an A2 in pull up brown horse. The...
Great, let me know how it goes. Btw, as already mentioned in this thread, when you put in a custom order with Five Stars, spec as many dimensions as you can. They are very good at replicating but don't necessarily think like tailors.
The racing flag lama logo is awesome :)
Here is a brief update and some fit pictures. In general, the jacket turned out great. It's a beast weighing in at 7.4lb (3.36kg), its stout but I would not call it stiff. The leather is pliable but it's thick so some movements may need a tad more effort. I actually did a 30 min kettle bell...
