Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I apologize for spamming this thread, but I wanted to update you on my experience with purchasing the Taubers jacket from Ametora. The jacket is fantastic and fits surprisingly well, with the dimensions of 25" PtoP and 25" length being quite accurate. Shipping was complimentary and swift. My...

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I picked up the Taubers. Ametora offered a 15% coupon, which made the deal hard to resist. If it doesn't fit, I'll be happy to pass it along to another member.

    Leather Alchemy

I didn't know that, thank you for the info. My 1st impression was that it may be a water based silicone filler since it has little to no odor and washes easily with water. Sanding it could be a challenge since filler remains flexible after drying. But 200 or 400 grit paper, when lightly...

    Leather Alchemy

Thank you, gentlemen. I'll update you on how it performs on the collar. In the past, I used Angelus filler on a 1990s Al's CHP jacket I acquired from a retired CHP sergeant. It appeared that the equipment from his duty belt had rubbed against the leather, causing scrapes, gouges, and nearly...

    Leather Alchemy

I recently acquired an old Als leather jacket which was quite heavy at around 9 pounds. The leather was high-quality but appeared to have been overconditioned over the years, likely due to the misapplication of various leather lotions, conditioners, and waxes. The jacket was laden with dirt...

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I recently purchased two jackets from Bluechel: a straight zip Cal with an original collar and Al's cross zip "suit of armor" that weighs 9.5lb. I believe both were very fair deals. Since both jackets are roughly the same size, I think they might have been worn by the same person.

Cal Leather Lightweight CHP Jacket, size Large Long

Through the haze of a half-drunk bottle, the jacket's a masterpiece, a slice of fine living clung around my shoulders. It's a keeper, alright. Hats off to you, Kubatu, for a deal as smooth as the last swig from a cold one. Cheers.

Vanson Highwayman Hardcore size 44, early 90's

It may be snug on you but should fit. I am 46" chest as well, size 36 waist; the upper fit is fine, it's a bit snug across the bottom when zipped. If you plan to layer, this jacket, almost for certain, will be too tight.
