Agree with Carlos840 comment, aero if you prefer a vintage look. I am bit prejudiced as I have always collected vintage 1950s clothing. Schott is just not good value new for the price.- dinomartino1

I have had m/c jackets by both brands. I have never had a vanson but the ones I have seen looked better quality than schott. My favourite leather at the moment is missing from the list. Aero battered steer hide, soft and the distressed leather look is subtle. The cidu brand would work for you, I was one of the first to get the bronson A-1 and they are the similar with higher armpits and tighter arms, a tighter asian fit this one is more western a cut but 38 is still XL in their sizing- dinomartino1

Build quality about the same but different leather and a less trim fit, you can see I have the waist adjusters fully done up. I feel sorry for you but if you where aware and agreed to the terms and conditions they did nothing wrong. Some people have blind loyalty to jacket makers, I am not in that category. So the Japanese copy American vintage with sometimes minor differences and because it is expensive that is okay, if the Chinese do it cheaper then why does it become an issue.
