They did not discuss provenance other than it was worn my James Dean in the movie. I looked closely, but the lining was not visible. The label was not shown.

This morning, the CBS early show mentioned the auction of the original (or I guess it’s one of the orginal) jacket. Showed footage of the particular jacket.

Oh, to clarify, I do like both styles, but I don't care for suede or pebble grain. If I had to choose one from the two, I'd go with pebble grain.

I'm speaking of quality. In my experience, they're made well. For me, they've held up, over the years, while being a pedestrian on the sidewalks of NYC.

About, 15 years ago, I purchased an unissued/unused either USN or maybe civilian/prison chambray shirt circa 1940s or 50s. I wear it, wash and dry it, as well. It has faded slightly, in that time, but it still soldiers on. Of course, it’s faded slightly more in the collar area.

I can tell you that the BR USN chambray shirt is very nice, well made and fits neatly. Additionally, I've had it for several years and it's showing no wear, though I've worn it numerous times. I always put it in the washer and dryer.

Maybe to add to this, my wife would dye her hair black, once it began to gray. The “black” dye was often labeled “midnight blue.” I saw it, daily, in sunlight and every other light imaginable, I never saw ANY blue.

These two short gems, from "Rio Bravo." Dean and Ricky (along with Walter Brennan) are so good in this. These songs get stuck in my head every time I see this.

I noticed the same thing with the Buzz Rickson's M-1941 field jacket that I purchased several years ago. It's the only repro I've owned that feels just like the excellent original that I owned. I was pretty taken aback by this fact.

I agree, it’s an older civilian model M-65 as is the liner. I also agree that the hood is a 1940s M-1943 field jacket model...it’s not a hood from a woman’s military jacket.
Civilian M-65’s have been in the market for decades. Saying that, it looks like a good pickup. I’m sure it will do the...
I just wore my A-2 deck jacket, here in NYC, to make a few block walk to the grocery store to pick up some ingredients for soup. I was nice and warm. Great jackets!

I had to do a couple of errands today, which entailed walking several blocks. It was kinda brutal, but we survived. Really put the Buzz Transport Coat to the test...it stood up.

I am so glad that my story helped you to get checked out. We (guys) are stubborn and can live in denial, to our own detriment. Thank goodness you’re okay!
