Great looking hat. Nice shape to it and I do like my longhairs. It was made after 1983, but judging by the liner it's not a very late example. Price is anyone's guess really; peluche is not to everyone's taste. Best to have a look at what Borsalinos in this size sell for by completed auctions. -

It's German. Made by VEB Guben. Several examples to be found on the lounge. Your description is spot on I think: solid, but nothing special. A good looking homburg though. -
