Forgot to comment on this one before. It is a great find and indeed if you can find the Castor Hudson (beaver) hats by Mossant you best go for them, because they are very high quality hats. Retailer Gérard Sools took no shortcuts either. -

Very cool find, Steve. Can't shed much light on the maker though. The only silk hat factory that has it's history halfway decently documented is Spoorenberg of Eindhoven. And they were certainly older than 1920. Wouldn't put it past them though to make hats under another brandname as they did... -

SOLD FS Barbisio fedora in white, size 59 (7 3/8)
For sale is this Barbisio fedora in natural or more a cream colour. Size 59 with the raw edge brim a 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Very soft felt with a great hand. No label inside the hat unfortunately. Very odd is the suede finish sweatband. Gorgeous hat, but not my size...- steur
