    French Hats and makers.

Forgot to comment on this one before. It is a great find and indeed if you can find the Castor Hudson (beaver) hats by Mossant you best go for them, because they are very high quality hats. Retailer Gérard Sools took no shortcuts either.

    Post New Hats Here!

Second one. Mossant fedora Castor Hudson in a grey colour called Ardoise (slate). Size 56 with the bound brim at 6cm and the crown at a fairly low 9,5cm at the center dent. The beaver felt is excellent and has a nice hand. Still deceiding if I want to wear this one brim up or down. Leaning...

    Italian brands hats

This thread deserves a bit of boost. Hoc Extra fedora in a brown colour called malaga. Size 56 with the raw edge brim at 6cm and the crown at 10cm in front. This teardrop is what it said it wanted during steaming it. Who am I to argue? Maker is either Gerardo Riva or Cerizza of Monza, a city...

    A trip in the collection

I love seeing these kind of pictures, but I have to admit I look at them with mixed feelings. All at once I am in awe at the size and quality of your collection, admiration for your courage to let go of so many of your darlings and anxiety that I really should do the same thing and cut down a...

    Post New Hats Here!

That is a really cool find! Congrats, Jim. You should be able to get that brim to behave a little better with some work.

    Post New Hats Here!

Very cool find, Steve. Can't shed much light on the maker though. The only silk hat factory that has it's history halfway decently documented is Spoorenberg of Eindhoven. And they were certainly older than 1920. Wouldn't put it past them though to make hats under another brandname as they did...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

And that's just for the spot because the rather nice looking historic house will be demolished, so it really is location, location, location! I have a feeling though that the new owner doesn't have the same dress sense you do, Robert. Impeccable as aalways.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Good to see that's still an option, Steve. I'm thinking of going back to velours again right now! Very nice, Joe. A hat with presence.

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

Cool find, Bob. Not a new colour; both Mombasa and Monbasa have been seen before, but it doesn't show up often.
