    They should be short. I have a couple of denim type 3 that actually have internal patch pockets. I found them very useful when out and about for my (minimalist) wallet, phone, whatever, when I don't want to stuff my pants pockets. Any sightings of type-3s with internal patch pockets?

    Yes I do, the one with marroon wool lining. The jacket had interesting history, I think you mentioned it for sale via Carousel in Hong Kong, a lounger bought it but it was too small for him, and then I bought it. You are right, the darned thing is mint.

    It does not matter. The cockamamie letter from Dave Himel to his tribe about how vegtan is stronger than chrome tan and how cotton thread while weaker is so much better than nylon is priceless.

    The leather does not look dry. No flaking or cracking. I would say it looks normal for an older jacket. You did the right thing with water/vinegar wipe. I would not try anything harsher. Part of the $70 deal.
