Had one last errand today... Threw on an Orvis Chocolate Lab Ball Cap ( Its my Mr Moose Cap). Back home to close out the day with another big Rum Punch. Had my Flu and Pneumonia shots yesterday and my left arm is really sore... Rum helps with the pain mitigation! Better living through Chemistry!
The Lawson is the nicest thing my ex wife ever gave me... we went over to David Morgan in Washington and picked it out as a birthday present. Wore it on a roadtrip all over British Columbia and Alberta for a couple weeks afterwards
Weathers about to change! Bright and sunny to north east and west.. Jet black to south and heading this way. Heading out with the Akubra Lawson for an errand... shade for now and cover if it starts raining before I get back ( Seems when it rains I always get caught 1/2 way between the Walmart...
I have to admit I kinda like the patina myself. it matches one or two little spots on the brim binding. Anyone can put a perfect new ribbon on a hat, but it will never match the look of a worn in ribbon. SInce this one was picked up to be a foul weather fall/ winter hat, Im starting to think I...
Got the recycled Stylemaster through a gas bath and liner cleaning yesterday. All clean now, and I DID manage to get most of the big ink stain off the underside of the brim. Little bit still there, but its liveable now. Ill spend a little more time with q-tips and mineral spitits and see if I...
Yours has a wider brim binding than mine do... Im guessing its a takeoff on the Stetson Whippett. I love wider brim bindings... definately have a more 40's vibe
Ive got a couple Adam Premiers from early to mid 60s... They are nice quality hats. For my less expensive hats, the Premiers and the Champ Featherweights are my favorites
I was worried about this one, but I think it will be fine... Nice little Stylemaster in Acorn. AFTER I bought it I looked at all the pics and description... clearly it was illustrated and mentioned about an ink blot on the underside of the brim ( Seller didnt hide anything... its all on me not...
ANOTHER foggy Akubra morning! Special morning because I finally identified this mystery hat. Its an Imperial felt Akubra made for Outback Trading Post, but I couldnt find a model name. There was a spot on the sweatband up front that I thought was scuffed up but turned out to just be some brown...
Last year when I was clearing out Dads house up in Knoxville, tn, I found a couple of his hats in the bottom of a box full of boots and an old VCR on top. ( pretty much crushed) Nothing fancy..Just a couple of Cavendars Western Wear store hats. Got them cleaned and un-crushed. One was a...
Love the Adams and Lees! There are quite a few nice ones out there in bigger sizes for modest prices ... there are several scattered around on my walls( unlike lots of the nice older stetsons that seem to be all size 6-7/8 lol)
Got a little maintenance done on the new Gun Club. Pulled the liner out so I could remove the cellophane and steam some wrinkles out prior to a woolite bath. While liner was out I went ahead and did some minor steaming and reblocking ( nothing big... just flattening a few wrinkles). Vaccumed and...
