As a point or two of clarification:
- We work in similar capacities.
- He knows I ride a bike but I don't know that he's ever seen me in a leather jacket
- I took no offense... I just thought it was interesting, and
- the remark he made had something to do w/ a blog of some sort that...
I was gifted an A2 by an old roommate many years ago. I have no idea who mfg'd it but I wore it everywhere and once I had blossomed beyond its intended limits I didn't buy another for many years but thought about it. I now have several (no A2's) and wonder what kept me from taking the plunge...
65YO Electrical Engineer. You'd find him somewhere on the spectrum and he's inclined to say what he thinks and directly. I've never pondered that some may define socio-economic status by your choice of jacket but I think it's interesting that he and perhaps others may.

In our twenties people think others are talking about us.
In our thirties we decide not to be bothered by whatever they're thinking.
In our forties we realize they never were.
Whenever you see a special interest car or truck come up for sale that was previously owned by Steve McQueen or Batman, etc. you know that's going to be sold at a premium. Some see value and will pay extra for that and some do not.

Long time listener, first time caller.
I have a few leather jackets and have for the most part just bought whatever moved me at the moment I saw it. A couple Schotts, a Wilson, a Vanson, etc. Mistakes have been made but I like them all well enough.
I'd like to try this differently next time...
