Thanks! Yes, the wind cord doesn't have a button and the cord has no elasticity. What's funny is I don't have an example of a German market Borsalino with a newer type wind cord. :)
Echter Borsalino "Export Qualität" "Ecosca ", FP 5 1/2, possibly mid to later 1950s. The "Export Qualität" designation was added in the mid 1950s and eventually "Echter" is dropped. This is a "Camber" form which was typical of the time and place. As expected great Felt quality that easily...

Thank you for posting the photo. The reason I asked is Mayser used a similar foil stamp in probably the same time period as your Stetson (see photo). I think it's highly likely Mayser made your Stetson and Overland Wien sourced from Mayser. Looking forward to seeing your P. & C. Habig Wien...
Ulrich, Super find! I am not sure what company made this Stetson or the exact time period (it's most likely 1970s or later). What is interesting is Brent ("Deadlyhandsom" who liked your post) also recently found a Oberwalder Wien (not a Stetson) Homburg on Ebay (see link below). Oberwalder...
Bob, I haven't been able to find patent info on "Ventilo". This hat is definitely early 1940s most likely 1930s because the P. & C. Habig Berlin Store at Friedrichstrasse 82a did not survive WWII. This Soft Felt was made at the P. & C. Habig Wien factory for the P. & C. Habig Berlin Store at...
Steve, This Homburg is from VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben so DDR / GDR. My guess is 1960s / 1970s.

Steve, Thanks! That is a great old C.W Borchert hat box!
Nathan, Thank you! Steve, replied regarding the addresses but here are some photos of a C. W. Borchert 157 Friedrichstrasse Berlin. W. Stiff Felt of mine.
Borchert Berlin W., date stamped August 6, 1952. I found this hat back in 2011 and I have always enjoyed wearing it. I am not sure who made this hat for Borchert. C.W. Borchert goes way back and they change locations after WWII.
Borchert Berlin W. carton that came with another hat...
Ludwig Skriwanek Graz, Hutfabrikation, possibly 1930s. The Wool Felt is a Melange which you can see clearer in the 2nd and 5th photos. I found this Wool Stiff Felt back in 2019.
Skriwanek - Hüte catalog (possibly 1920s)...
