Any time I’ve seen any image of that hat, it’s been a gray. Hmmm……
Now another question: does it really matter? Go with your heart, Faux. If brown is what you’re feeling, fine!!
Everybody knows that little or nothing in Hollywood is real. The display included, I think. Maybe the suit (that can’t really be seen) under the trench is the original, but not the hat, and I’m not convinced about the coat. It’s difficult to be 100% certain due to the resolution of the film...
Wearing a real favorite of mine today, this late 1950’s Royal De Luxe Stetson. The raggy old shirt is a little newer; a late 1960’s Pendleton that belonged to a friend’s dad. I received it in late 1973.

I knew a farmer in northern Vermont with a similar (but rougher, not as nicely finished) glassed-in display of sharp edges. He had over 1400 axe heads on display on the walls of his garage/shop.

Good Saturday, all. Taking off from Frun’s last lid, Excellent Quality Stetson Strat. This was a fortunate find during Stetson’s short-lived production run of about 10 years ago.
