Okay so there seems to be huge variations in the lighter CXL as well. Just received my custom Speedway in lighter CXFQHH, but compared to my original hercules(again in lighter cxfq), the leather seems quite a bit muted. Hoping that the grain will pop with usage
Aero usually have a lighter batch of CXL horsehide available on request, IMO it is the best of both worlds- all the qualities of CXL & much easier to wear
Looks great, congratulations !
The way you describe the characteristics, it looks quite similar(even in appearance) to the brown pony shinki Greg used to offer back in the days. A great option for folks looking at avoiding the heavier Horween horsehides.
Actually the sleeves are an inch too long.
Debs very kindly offered to shorten them for free, but I will have to pay return shipping to UK, so just thought if TFL folks may be interested
& the other jacket is a similar jacket and color(black cxl), but from Aero, purchased during their sale...
Received last month, only tried inside the house. I am still not sure on selling this, but going to have one more in the same style and color, & would certainly prefer to keep 1
SB custom made this jacket for me, and it has come out beautifully. It is made of shiny Italian Epsom horsehide...
Yes, prices seem to have increased by around 11.5% (over pre sale original prices)
Custom 1930s HB used to cost 650 GBP, which now costs 725 GBP(It was 552 GBP during the sale, now costs 31% higher than the sale price!)
Above are VAT excluded prices for Non UK Customers
