Took a punt on this as I’m a 34-36 and it was unclear if it was a men’s or women’s model (zip does up on the men’s side). Turns out it’s the 445L [edit: it isn't, its the men's pattern in a small size-see below], which I’d happily wear if it fit, but it doesn’t—heartbreaking really, as it’s one...
I got it with the fur collar, which is very nice and may get some use in the colder months, and the throat latch, which is very unlikely to! No belt.
I went for the goat as it seems to be what they specialise in and their most reliable leather, and I figured a leather with a bit more elasticity...
FS: Cidu 641XX style cafe racer S/36 £125
Mixed feelings about selling this as I may not find a better fitting cafe racer! Thing is, I don’t ever reach for it—I may not be a cafe racer sort of person—and I’ve committed to having no more than 7 jackets!
So on the block is this Cidu Schott...
The LAPD arrived, finally! As I mentioned, recent experiences on this thread had me quite pessimistic about the likely outcome, but maybe that expectation management was a good thing, as I’m pretty delighted with the result—initial thoughts below.
The good:
I think they pretty much nailed the...

Rivetts Lightning style jacket in 42 (£250). What is the relationship between Rivetts and Lewis in terms of this model?
Ah that figures. It does appear to be heavy wear areas rather than hidden ones—I was confused as to why they used leather on e.g. the underside of the epaulettes but vinyl on the inner pocket. And in fairness to the marketing the vinyl parts of mine do look factory fresh, though I’ve seen those...
Yes and yes. An unwelcome reappearance of the pleather on a vertical inside pocket (really Schott? How much money did using these 3 offcut-sized pieces of vinyl save?):
And a very succinct pocket ticket—it was sold as a 36 but this explains why it’s so fitted!:
Single-stitched pointed...
How funny, I picked up a 999 yesterday and posted it to WJAYWT, not realising there was an active thread for these!
To my inexpert eye, mine appears to be the same as @jeo ’s 5th version but with the Beck Arnley label: Same seam construction, same vinyl gussets but leather inner hem etc.—the...
Just picked up an early 70’s Beck Arnley 999 (likely a precursor to the Schott 125) in size 34. It’s the smallest size I can get away with but I don’t have any T Shirt fit jackets and I think the 70s cut of the sleeves works far better for me than my 90s Schott.
The leather isn’t my most...
Oh dear. Looks like another trip to the tailors may be this jacket’s best hope to avoid similar extinction.
Will leave this up until Saturday then it’s off to Brick Lane to see if it can be slimmed down to my size!
I can beat that. Not only did I commission my own variant of your now infamous design (albeit with some minor revisions), I still have it and it remains one of my favourite jackets to wear.
Not even sorry!
(This shot is while still wrinkled from shipping, though I’m sure that’s the least...
I have bought Cidu and Simons from both Red Tornado/Al’s Store/Rock can Roll (all same guy) and from YR (who also operates under many names. There’s a big markup over manufacturer price (worth it if there’s free returns IMO) and these vary wildly. Sometimes the same model is cheaper to buy from...
Can anyone identify this women’s Schott CHP?
In my hunt for the perfect side-laced cross zip I came across this jacket, which I suspected would be perfect for my partner, and nabbed it.
But it’s bugging me that I can’t identify it. In the good old days Gail would have known I’m sure, but maybe...
