Well, I tried my best. I sent him many pictures of the process, with detailed instructions but he seems fully hell bent on being right about it being impossible for him to correctly measure his head. After multiple emails, multiple detailed responses to his questions I have officially thrown...

This is my business. I know how to instruct you how to measure a head to determine size/shape. If I didn't know how to do it correctly I would not have an online business. You are overly complicating what is a fairly straightforward process. Here is an offer: I will walk you through...

No, I am not even sure he still makes hats. But he may know someone in your neck of the woods. He sell hat making supplies now as well as runs a school for hat makers. He was on the expensive side.

You could check with Tim at Pure beaver hat supplies. He may be still making hats or could direct you towards someone in that region. My prices for a rabbit felt custom start at $350, top quality felt, vintage grosgrain ribbon, vintage Japanese silk liners, all of your choosing.

If you place a deposit I will mail a conformateur to you. Or I have a way of determining your head shape without going that route. It is time tested and works well. 50% of my custom business is online and usually mailing the conformateur is not required but if that is what is needed then sure.

While online photos can be deceiving the colour in your picture looks to be very much the Acorn or at least def not the BGGreen.

I find I am happiest when I create a problem I have to solve. Dyeing hats fit into that dynamic in some way.

    Why vintage?

For me I have to be vigilant about being nostalgic for time that never existed. .....or if it did exist it was only in my imagination.

    Why vintage?

I think anything labelled "Genuine leather" is stuff made from the tanning sludge. I buy my roan sweats by the gross and I think the price I pay is ridiculously cheap at about $5 each for top of the line product. But I guess in a mass production arena saving a buck or two per unit grows into...
