After not really liking the original color of my BK Surrogate jacket*, I decided to give it a color change over the last weekend. I went for a darker brown (Fiebing's leather dye chocolate brown) to make the jacket look more like the original film jacket (see last picture) but still create a...
Thank you! Indeed the jacket is very comfortable to wear and the Goat Hide surprisingly lightweight but strong. It’s a perfect 3-season Jacket. Okay the color (opaque seal) isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I spected it to give the Jacket this classic 1940‘s, 1950‘s look/style adopted from...
There is a Sale at Marrkt for some awesome early FW Stuff listed from a fellow TFL Member @Duke Mantee. Holy grail items if you’re in FW and listed sizes. Got two shirts already :)
Only as already noted, the chest pocket is a little too high, based on the posted photo. I know the 5* leather jackets get little love in this forum. I am more than satisfied with mine. Your leather jackets also offer a very good price / performance ratio.
The thanks goes back @tmitchell59 and I am very happy the jackets have found a good new home. I am looking forward to comparing them with your vintage leather jackets.
Thank you very much @Bennarion much appreciated! And this in a very short time. It still needs a little more wearing time (e.g. in a rain shower) until the jacket is perfect in every respect (like my previous jacket in size 40").
I am more than happy to have found a size 42“ replacement. As I wrote on insta, if it come to only one Leather Jacket, I guess that would be the FW Brakeman made from black Shinki HH :)
You are absolutely right @Marc mndt , I didn't want to say it so directly but it is true that the fine creek leather jackets, as seen on insta, have an unnatural and quick “patina”. As quickly as the lining "fades", the leathers obviously fade just as quickly
Based on the photos, the jacket has undoubtedly been “well” worn but I still feel that the lining should not be damaged in this way. This confirms my information that the Fine Creek leather jackets do not deliver what they promise. I myself had a Fine Creek leather jacket in my hands and was...
Oops, how old is this jacket and what did you wear underneath that the lining already looks so worn out? Or the quality of this lining is absolute garbage.
As already mentioned, the size or how close a jacket sits to the body plays a role (as with denim jeans, for example). The thickness of the leather and the way the leather has been tanned also play a role. In my experience, veg tan leathers develop most dramatically when worn in a rain shower.
The 2021 is like new, I think over time with some more wear the graining will show more prominent. There is no difference in color, it's just the lightning as I did the pics.
