Sam said that he was excited to make it, and that the King of the Road back is his favourite :) As, for me, the J-106 has the most distinct front, the King of the Road back seemed like the obvious choice if going full-busy, and as I plan to wear this jacket all year round, throat-latch is a...
Are many people offended by this? I live in Europe, and nobody cares, so it's hard for me to judge what a faux-pas is in North America. If everyone is super offended even though offence was not my intent, perhaps the mods can change it.

Howdy all,
I just got word from Aero that my custom jacket shipped today. I asked them to take some photos before shipping so that I could show you guys:
Type: J-106
Size: 38"
Leather: Natural CXFQHH
Customised:
King Of The Road Back (Yoke, and hidden belt)
Indian Ranger Throat Latch
Brass...
Howdy folks,
I'm looking for some off-the-rack brown jump boots, in the style of Corcoran's, but with a modern, treaded, vibram sole.
I love William Lennon, but frankly, every time I've ordered or tried to order, it takes 2-4 months *just to place the order* and then another 3-4 months to...
@Edward, I'm excited to see how mine comes out then!
Although now I'm getting nervous that measurements I took for my J-106 are wrong, and it won't fit :D What's the turnaround on an Aero jacket? 8 Weeks?
I only wear brown combat boots, which severely limits my options and makes most custom jobs too expensive :P I'll pay a 1000 pounds for a jacket because it should last longer than my boots, but to pay 1000 for a custom Wesco or White's build doesn't make sense for me, as I've never had a pair of...
@AeroFan_07, post pictures, write a blog post about it!
I've actually always avoided cxl, maybe because of ignorance, for my whole life. Having gotten these samples, my mind is slowly changing, and I might have to get a new pair of William Lennon boots to go with my new jacket to get the full...
I just received my leather samples from Aero, and I can confirm that the natural cxl horse hide is just like every other cxl leather, i.e., it doesn't soak in grease. I cut off a strip and tried to apply Huberd's shoe grease to no avail. It doesn't soak in, and so doesn't really change the...
Lol. Ok. Anyway, not all battles are worth fighting, and I like the Aero style enough that I'm not going to let a zipper dissuade me from getting the jacket--I'm just going to mentally steel myself for it breaking immediately and my having to pay someone locally to put in a tougher one :D...
Maybe some of the more senior members of the forum might consider starting a survey to see how many FL members have had problems with their zippers? Because right now, it's just he-said-she-said.
I'll add another few cents: If I were buying an era specific *costume*, I would agree with them...
This bothers me to no end :/ It reminds of of Apple or some other company, "Everything's fine, there are no problems with our keyboard, they're amazing" - then class action lawsuit, keyboards on laptops from 2016 onward can be replaced for free because they are in fact inferior.
Whatever, since...
@AeroFan_07, here are a few albums of my William Lennon boots.
New: https://imgur.com/a/5ovNULl
1 month: https://imgur.com/a/PoSdZA1
7 months (+1500km, today): https://imgur.com/a/BJY6MgP
Will officially be available at WL as the "Combat Boot Mark V" in May! What do you think?
Another great piece of advice! Although I wonder--do you folk reckon that the zippers are *actually* brass, or just brass coloured? Now that Talon is made in China, nothing against China, it just has me wondering...
*EDIT*
I also wonder if the "natural" brass zippers are coated, and much...
I don't like having lots of things, so everything I have is 4 seasons, etc :P I've put 1500+km on my William Lennon boots in just over 6 months, and by the looks of it, they'll do another 1500-3000--it was actually my William Lennons, which I had made in heavy duty double front horse leather...
Wow, i'm surprised...Holly/Aero *will not* use a bigger zipper even if I provide it, because it's not authentic. I quote,
"I’m afraid we don’t fit heavy duty zips as they don’t fit in with what we do, we only fit period correct zips and we wouldn’t want to fit one with our label."
I'm a little...
@AeroFan_07, how do you feel about slightly different coloured stitching on a brown/tan jacket? I'm toying with the idea of getting olive drab stitching to go with my ex-army adventurer look, but fear it might be over the top, as the J-106 is already a busy jacket, especially the ba***rd version...
My jacket will be a ba***rd J-106 front with a King of the Road back in natural cxl horsehide, so it will be pretty heavy. I like the riri zippers, but I need an antique brass finish to complete the look i'm going for.
UK folk, who can recommend me a shop that ships, in case Holly says yes...
