Well thank you, bro! Appreciate the confidence boost, and back at ya!
Takes one to know one type of thing.
We see folks wearin cheap, knockoff fedoras on modern TV commercials/shows and think, “Man, if they only knew how bad they look in them sad things and instead knew how authentic vintage...
No. 1 Quality I’m guessing to be from the early 40s. Reblocked and reflanged with a bit of curl added to the 1/8” bound brim.
Favorite Western.
Should’ve dusted the thing after sewin it back together. :-)
Sized up from 7 1/8 to 7 1/4+ and reshaped just a bit.
Re-Flanged the 4” mobile shade, and curled the 1/8” bound brim edge, slightly.
Looks to be an early 40s model considering the gold bound size tag and sewn rear seam on the sweatband. If there ever was a liner it was gone when I got it.
Took a long while, but finally got a Stetsonian.
Worth the wait. Another addition in my favorite color!
OPS tag, so late 40s/early 50s, 2 7/8” silver 1/2” bound brim.
Haven’t even cleaned it yet, which means the prior owner well took care.
Perfect fit, too.
Been blessed with some fine...
Got this 40s Alexander yesterday.
Notice the blind stitching on the sweat band.
I’ve never seen that feature. That’s what the inside tag is stating; that the sweat won’t irritate your skin with exposed stitches.
It is comfy!
Thanks, Joe.
I should’ve used a wide ribbon on the this one since there’s a sweatband caused stain ring around the crown, but instead I felt like keeping it all original.
Oh well. Make a heck of a good beater!
Finished with this Mallory 20 “The Dallas”
It was cleaned and re-blocked twice. Decided to do a gambler crown on this one, since I didn’t have any like it.
