    For today, a new writer to fountain pens would have to go a long way to find a better value than the Waterman Phileas. Very reliable, good nibs uses cartridges or converter and readily available. If wanting to spend a little more, the Pelikan 215 series are excellent.

    The Sam Browne is the classic look. It involves a dedicated belt with a shoulder strap to help support the weight of the holstered gun.

    The Mini is a "minute of irritant" rifle that is very robust. I have seen them totally beat up from prison catwalks and they seem to thrive on abuse.

    Wow, the last 2 months have been wild. Illnesses in the family, inland hurricanes, etc. But the Lord is good and no one hurt, everyone getting well and things slowly getting back to normal. I missed you guys!

    I have several firearms that are like that. A Japanese Arisaka rifle that still has it's "mum", meaning it was taken from a fallen or captured soldier, a M1 Garand that went to the USMC in Jan 1944, a German Luger from 1915 with Imperial German Army markings and an old S&W revolver from 1922...

    Very nice looking set! Those were made when a fountain pen wasn't a luxury, it was a tool. They should be great.
