I guess I should have been more clear. I'm not looking for vintage clothing, but new clothing by companies who haven't changed their designs much since the wwii era. Scandinavian surplus is not something I can easily acquire and will fit me well (see my comment about needing long sizes)...
Dressing in vintage styles can be expensive. I'm not looking to dress up in suits, but just simple work-man's clothing. Even then, all the pants and shirts I've lusted after have been from Japan or some limited edition piece by a major company that costs a lot (like the 1920s edition dickies for...
Has anyone here worn earls camp trouser? It's duck canvas, buttonfly, sort of military/carhartt work style. Was curious how they fit.
Haven't been able to find any other classic style buttonfly work pant for under $100. These go for around $40-$50...
Good pictures here...
while thrift store shopping today, i found a pair of stacey adams shoes that look to be the madison 00012 shoes on their website. i'd like to know how to date them, my girlfriend thinks they are at least 30 years old.. i can get some pictures posted if it will help...
thanks!
dylan
those trousers are really cool... are there any resources that would be recommended in finding a pair? i saw some other pictures of you with these (or ones like them)... do i see a button on the ankle, can it be tightened to hold onto the leg as well as worn loose?
i like your style!
i remember watching deadwood when it was still on, and always really liked the hat jack mccall wore (played by garret dillahunt). does anyone know what this style is called, and where one could be found? if a picture is needed, i will try and find a good shot.
thanks!
dylan.
well thanks for the help.
i will try some wah makers maybe early next year and see how i like them.
one more question while i'm at it... have you tried any of the other trousers they make, or no of a fundemental difference between the vigilantes or the canvas ones?
i myself was also...
it seems like the wah makers might be my best bet. they look pretty good on you, are those just the canvas ones? my girlfriend is worried i will look too "costumey" if i wear some pants like this with some custom amish made shirts i have and braces, which is fully my intention. after seeing your...
i looked at some repro levis, they don't look that attractive to me. i'm not normally one to wear jeans.... plus i don't like the wash on those pants, the "already worn look" is silly, since i like my pants looking as crisp as possible, i usually retire them when they start looking very worn.
they don't have to be canvas, cords would be fine too, and i'm open to try different fabrics. one issue i have with the old town trousers is that they don't have a back pocket. i find the back pocket important, i don't think it looks right for every day trousers. if i was looking into old suit...
sorry i must have misread something while coming to the assumption that old town was difficult, it is good to hear they are not. custom orders are not of any importance to me as it seems by the photographs of men in a similar body shape look quite good in the trousers.
has anyone had any...
hello,
my name is dylan and i just signed up, but have been looking at this forum for a while. i stumbled over here while looking for information on high waisted trousers, and this place has helped. i now know of some different places that offer what i am looking for, but am curious about the...
