Edward - yes, those are the standard knits and lining as spec'd by Aero. I wish I could squeeze into the jacket as well - it's a beauty! I think I made more progress with my father in law in gifting the jacket than I did bringing him a grandson!:D
Here's the catch: USN name tag sewn on by Aero. Purchased this as a gift which unfortunately did not fit as desired. Obviously any new owner will want to sew on their own tag. Lovely jacket with some of the best goatskin I've seen from Aero (had 3 jackets in this hide.) Great opportunity for a...
Jacket is now sold. Many thanks to TFL for bringing together such courteous and knowledgeable people to offer our "recyclables." All of my classified experiences here have exceeded those made on eBay. Bravo Zulu!
Beautiful like new Maxwell in brown FQHH. Simple 2 hand-warmer pocket design, brown cotton drill lining, left interior snap pocket. Hide still smells of new and is just starting to break in. Right cuff button has a small edge broken off, but otherwise this jacket is as it came from Aero...
This jacket is essentially brand-new - one or 2 wears only. I made the wrong choice on sizing, and need to sell this one to pay for another jacket. I will post photos soon, but if you want to get a look - it looks exactly like the one in Aero's online site. The only custom feature is that I...
I would like to report that Holly contacted me today and very graciously agreed to a full resolution of my problem. Aero will be refunding the full shipping cost, as well as any details required for me to recover import fees. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the forum for their...
That may be so, but again, that is not the issue. Aero has, regardless of whether they intended to, admitted their mistake by re-listing this particular 40 as a 38 on the sale page. If it were simply a case of "this jacket is a slim cut" then they would have said "all of our 40's are actually...
Yes, I always understood that the jacket was meant to fit tight, and that it was sized in a way that reflected standards of the day. And I had worked with Aero before in determining correct sizing for me in another jacket. Yet as someone who comfortably wears a 38 in other slim-fitting jackets...
Update - Ken and Holly from Aero contacted me this morning after news of this thread reached them. Many thanks to TFL members both individually and collectively. There is real value in people with like minds gathering together! Thanks again.
Well, I was impressed enough to order another one! I actually ordered a G1 from Lost Worlds as an immediate replacement, but definitely preferred the leather and construction of the Aero, and returned the G1 immediately upon receiving it.
Big J and Plumbline - yes, I ended up ordering a 42 from Insurrection. The A1 fit jacket they sent me was a tad larger than I preferred, but I was so terrified of getting another "40" that I just went with it. We'll see how close the fit is next week, I hear.
Just looking forward to my...
P.S.
I subsequently ordered a M-422a through Insurrection, though after 13 weeks have yet to receive it. Explanations have ranged from cutting errors at Aero to "this tailor really likes to take her time." !?
Does anyone have contact information for someone at Aero who might be able to rectify a customer service issue? I have never had any response from the “Contact Us” route on the website, and my direct emails to Christine have gone unacknowledged.
My issue arises from a M422a I ordered from the...
