    Thanks RBH. I am humbled by some of the beautiful conversions on this post. I'll be doing a LOT of this in the future because used high quality westerns are plentiful where I am. Maybe I'll raise my game to the level of some of these other posters. The main thing is that I had fun doing it.

    I looked at some military uniform sites and they wore them like this for 100 years up until about 1910. This one definitely looks older and could be from VMI instead of West Point. Very cool picture either way.

    Actually one of them was a stingy! I guess I'll just have to find other sources for my vintage hats. I know that just asking the elderly members of my family has been my best source. Maybe I'll start attending bridge club meetings or something:)
