Thank you, Foofoogal! It cost me quite an effort to write more often because I'm not a native speaker. But since everbody is so nice around here, I thought I should take a more active part in the Lounge. There are so many things to learn from each other.
I clean my face without any tensides at all, using alternately Lush's "Angels on Bare Skin" and Dr. Hauschka's "Cleansing Cream". It was one of the best decisions I made concerning skincare.
Before that I used cleansers with organic ingredients, based on mild tensides made of coconut or sugar...
But, warning: "Lady Danger" is a colour that screams "Look at me!" :D . It's a matte shade and therefore highly pigmented. "So Chaud" might be another option, but it's also a matte.
Wow Laura, that lipstick colour suits you perfectly! It reminds me a bit of MAC's "Lady Danger", but it's less orange. I'd bet you would like Helena Rubinstein's "Smoked Topaz" (it's from her "Wanted Rouge" line). I already mentioned it in the lipstick-thread, it's a warm discreet daytime red -...
Thinking about what made me fall in love with retro beauty, I figured out that my grandmother played an important role. She had an impeccable sense of fashion and style. As a kid I used to dress up in her clothes (completely with hats, clothes and jewelry) and pretended to be a model and her...
Smuterella, did you use a lip primer underneath the lipsticks? I can recommend MAC's "prep + prime". It conditions the lips quite well. A cheaper alternative would be Weleda's "Everon", that's a nurturing stick with lots of natural oils and waxes - works very well as a base for lipsticks, too. I...
Dolly, you look wonderful!
I collect lipsticks, so it's kind of hard to pick a favourite shade. But for daytime I often wear a lipstick from Helena Rubinstein's "Wanted Rouge" line, the shade is called "Smoked Topaz". It's a discreet warm red with just a hint of shimmer in it. I also like the...
Thank you so much, Laura. *whispers* I'm also a "lotions & potions" addict, collecting lipsticks and stuff, so I am glad about your detailed answer and all the links to the products :).
Laura, that looks absolutely amazing! And you have such a lovely milky-white complexion. How long did you practice pin-curling? The curls look so neat.
I know it's off-topic, but may I ask you about your skin-care regime and make up? Which products do you use to achieve such a wonderful complexion?
Ladies, you all look fabulous!
Okay, because it was mentioned some time ago in this thread, I have a question
concerning the marcellers. Is there any chance to get them in a European online store? Or something that creates a similar sort of wave?
I'm using a mineral foundation by Chrimaluxe at the moment. Chrimaluxe is a German company (reseller), its MF comes in very light shades, which is great for me. I also use silk powder underneath the foundation which helps to mattify my oily complexion and T. LeClerc's banana powder on top. Well...
I love the Aubrey Organics "Rosa Mosqueta Luxurious Hand & Body Lotion". It's very moisturizing, has only natural ingredients and works perfectly for my very dry hands without being too greasy. Oh, and it smells heavenly!
Wow, magnolia - that looks amazing! And the make up is perfect, which products did you use? Especially the lipstick is very nice. The model is really beautiful.
I've been using the "Dipliner" from H&M for years, since it was cheap and easy to apply. But unfortunately, H&M doesn't sell it anymore, so I had to look for an alternative. Went to the Bobbi Brown counter and bought the "Long-wear Gel Eyeliner" and the "Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush". That haul was...
Well, I thought, there's maybe some trick about it, that I just didn't know. Your post rather discourages me to do further experiments lol . Hey, but at least you're honest and I don't feel completely stupid anymore for not being able to recreate that look correctly.
What about the finger wave girls here? Has anyone mastered the style on a regular base? I've been trying pin curls and finger waves but it's so time consuming, when there's no person around, that could help. Plus I always think my arms will fall off *big sigh*. I'm thinking of buying the...
Hi Kerry,
The next MAC counter here is also one hour away, but I would say, yes, it's definitely worth the time it takes to get there. Visiting that counter makes me always feel like I am on a big playground, because it's such a fun to try all the stuff they offer. I use the "Studio Fix Powder...
I was talking about almond clay, not butter ;). There is no such thing like almond butter, only almond oil. But almond oil in combination with a good natural soap could also be great as a cleansing regimen :).
The Lavera Wildrose eye-gel is also fantastic. It's the perfect moisturizer for the sensitive area around the eyes, plus it smells gorgeous and you can put on eye-make up right after you use it. I don't know, if it is avaible in the US (and probably, the name is a bit different). But I guess, it...
