Stepping back in to the 40's in public I need your help please!

My vote is the white blouse, (though they are all beautiful, and you will look fabulous no matter which one you choose!), tan stockings and the mary-janes. You look great!

Show Us Your Vintage 1920s & 1930s knitwear & Crocheted Garments

It depends on what the knitter makes it out of. There are many yarns that won't bleed. A lot of wool is oversaturated with dye and will loose some colour the first or second time that you wash it, and then never bleed again (especially if you add a little vinegar to the wash).

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

You know, I have actually considered going in to work in a repro dress (since I sew all my scrubs anyway), but live in horror that that would be the day I would have to crawl up on top of some really big dude to do chest compressions and flash my knickers at the entire code team. The naughty...

    Favorite Vintage Perfumes

It has been years since I have actually smelled either Bal a Versailles or 4711 - but I remember them very vividly and fondly. I inherited a half-full bottle of Bal à Versailles from my mum. It always makes me think of when I was a very little girl and my mum was the most beautiful and...

The best face powder in the world!

I have freckles. Many, many freckles. If I wear foundation I look ridiculous, because then my freckles start at my neck! Unless I want to paint on every inch of exposed skin, I cannot wear foundation. I use Alima Pure satin finishing powder which takes the shine away and evens out my colour...

    Girl Crushes!

I LOVE Patti Smith! I saw her perform once, and even though I have seen many, many live shows, that show still sticks in my mind as one of the best, EVER. She got down off the stage and shook hands with a whole bunch of audience members (me included!). And I helped boost her back up onto the...
