Beaver Creek 8x Beaver felt in front of the Tetons. Have not been able to quite crease it as I would like over the campfire kettle. Onward to Yellowstone today.
Not sure it is a Gay Prince. The sweat has a crinkle (by design) at the join with « head spring » at the front which I think suggests that the sweat adjusts.
The shop owner reckons it is from 1939, but there is no paper label inside. It is gray, not brown as the photos suggest.

Greetings friends, it has been a while. Am on holiday in the US and walked into a shop in Pinedale, WY and spotted an original uncreased Stratoliner and Dobbs on a shelf amidst the western hats. Owner would not sell the Strat but we agreed on the Dobbs.
Am now in Jackson, WY and spotted a...
Not warm enough for (my only) straw (but I live in England so why would I need more?), so with a Sools Borsalino today.
By the way, I was walking by the British Museum and saw a shop which specialises in 30’s/40’s clothes. Hats look Ok, I think they are Spanish or Portuguese (maybe...
Lovely straw and love the shirt as well. As to head shrinking, that seems to have happened to me as well, but that is not a bad thing when running after nice hats and more affordable price vs bigger (size) heads :).

You can google his book “Many are Called”. He is well known for his photo of a woman in the dust bowl perhaps during the...
Random find, looks unworn, Dunn & Co with 5” open crown, 2.5” brim, felt is firm but supple, crease how you want and it holds, in grey and fits *perfectly*! Happy Friday
This was the date stamped 1934 hat which I put up in the classifieds and fortunately went to a fellow Lounger. I actually felt a little sad when I boxed it up as it gave off a good vibe. It was just a little too big for comfort.
“There will be blood” with Daniel Day-Lewis about the turn of the (19th) century oil rush in California. Great film.

The 11 year old son of a close buddy asked me if I could get him a beret. So I was in France earlier this week and got one for him and figured I may as well get one for myself. This was to compensate for not picking up a €20 black long fur felt, sharkgill Dermotta I saw in Episode in Paris but...
Gaaargh, again! Really fantastic hat... I hope it’s not a sin to covet a fellow Loungers hat. On the other hand, if it is, I would be in a lot of trouble! [emoji51]
