I getthe San Francisco Chronicle every day and the NYT M-F. I scan the articles and read what interests me, usually on the train ride to work, but mostly I'm a crossword junkie.

I love a Bombay Sapphire Martini, 5 parts to 1 part dry vermouth, stirred, 2 olives. The Gin and vermouth should be chilled.
Now I'm craving one of these and it's not even noon...
Also, vodka and vermouth is a Kangaroo.
For fans of the dry martini:
In the TV series M*A*S*H, characters...

Hello to all.
I have long been a classic movie buff and, as I have aged, have developed an appreciation for many aspects of the Golden Era. I particularly love the 30's and 40's, followed by the 20's and don't care for 50's style, etc. whatsoever, though I certainly respect those who do...
I am 36, though I usually feel much older, but not in a bad way. I have often felt I was born to the 'wrong' generation and I enjoy the company of..well...older folks.
Greetings, all.
This is my first post after being a long time lurker.
There was an article about this opera by Garrison Keillor on Salon this morning.
