Nice tie Quigley! :D I'm really liking these dog head ties, I've had quite a few comments on mine, who doesn't love dogs?!

    Wool Knit Vests / Waistcoats

Got another one of these made up for me from a vintage knitting pattern I have. Went with brown this time, and added a little extra to the length :)

    Show us your TIES

Found this one recently, the first and only New Zealand made hand painted tie I've ever come across. Hopefully I'll find some more of these one day!

Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

Yes it is! It's a great jacket, thanks for selling it ;) Thanks Damian! Yes it does seem to be a bit big in the body doesn't it. Strange, as the neck size is perfect, and the measurements listed on the pattern made it seem like it would be a good fit. I may indeed have to try altering the...

Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

Thanks for the tips! Ah yes! I knew something looked a bit off with the armholes, I'll make a note of that for future shirts. Yeah I was tossing up whether I should topstitch or not, I was rushing to get it done so I decided against it, and I thought it would look ok (like you said, I've...

Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

My first attempt at making something after finishing a full time four month sewing course. Done the course with the aim of getting myself a couple machines and making my own repro vintage for everyday wear. I was lucky enough to use the industrial machinery in the workshop to make this on my...

In Search of 35-38 blue suit

Not sure if what you posted was a typo, but if you have a 40" chest, you'd probably be wanting to look for a size 40-42? There's no way you would fit into a size 35 anyway!!! Thought it was worth pointing out.

    40s Bold Neckties

Maybe we could organise a trade one day. I tend to pick up a decent amount of 30's ties on my travels, but I prefer the bold post war ties (which we don't really get in New Zealand). I really need to sort through my 30's tie collection and put a few up for sale, a lot of them I haven't even worn!

    Show us your Trousers!

I recently bought these for $4 (discounted from $180). Surprisingly they're high waisted, with nice vintage style pleats and cuffs. Comparable to a few pairs of repro trousers I have. Good quality and locally made. The only problem is the colour, they're a yellow mustard (goldenrod?), which I'm...

    Show Us Your Purchases....GUYS !

Looking sharp Damian! Nice find with that overcoat. I found something similar at a local second hand store a few weeks ago, unfortunately it was riddled with moth holes, looked like someone had taken a shotgun to it :(

    What are you wearing today??

Yep, you got it right! I never wear shoes in the house, probably should have cropped that bit out. :) Thanks for the compliments gents! I love getting style inspiration from this thread, some great looking outfits being posted lately.

Went into town to see The Glenn Miller Orchestra play.

Do these pants look right to you

The hemp proved to be too much of a temptation for the machinists, should have stuck with 100% cotton. Strangest pair of jeans I've ever seen...

WOW DEADSTOCK 30s TIE FABRIC--ART DECO GALORE

I've been trying to sew myself a replica vintage tie for a few weeks, but I can't get the hang of the rolled edge! I've tried doing it by hand and using a rolled hem presser foot, with no success :( Otherwise I would have been keen on some of this!

    Vintage Spade Sole Shoes

Beautiful shoes cookie! Love the two tones.

Vintage Pics in your vintage threads!

A candid shot of me at a local Art Deco event a couple years ago, thought it looked pretty original (once I edited out the road signs ;))
