Thanks! It's one of two I own, not counting a cheap tack store Stetson. The only one I ever wear, probably should sell the other two. I really want a Nevada/ Elko style, but need to save up for it and pick a maker. Montana Rio has some nice ones.
I asked about a similar problem a few weeks ago. I have two custom hats, both by the same maker. One was originally made as a LO, the other wasn't but was stretched into a LO when I bought it. The LO fits perfectly, and if I don't wear it for a couple of weeks it will snug down just enough to be...
I'm thinking about buying an Atwood palm Nevada hat for the warm weather coming on. Are they noticeably cooler than felt? How will the palm hold up to rain and wind? Are they easy to stretch into a long oval without damage?
I placed the order on the 6th, so taking out weekends it's been a little over two weeks right now.
Tried working this last week in my old Ariats, made it a day before giving up on them. I dug out an old pair that were shot a couple of years ago, but the soles are still in one piece. Guess I'm...
For sale is a pair of Tony Lama boots, marked size 11.5D. Style number is 6532. Good used condition, no visible damage but there are a couple of loose stitches on the soles and normal wear. Asking $40 for the pair, plus whatever it costs to ship them.
A well respected hatter once told me "a hat needs a few years of wear to really look right" and I tend to agree. My everyday hat is nowhere near symmetrical anymore, but I think it looks fine.
Of course, if you're going for an exact replica disregard that.
That's correct. I've never seen chaps that connect to a jacket. I would t think you would want that, seems like it would interfere with upper body movement.
I received my first comment ever this weekend. We'd finished working some cows and I stopped at a store on my way home. It had been muddy, so despite knocking the worst of it off my boots and jeans had a layer of muck about halfway up to my knees, and there were spots of mud and dried "cow...
I hemmed, I hawed, but today I ordered. [emoji1]
Style 17A, brown top on brown foot with brown or gray stitching and a 2 1/4" heel. Up to an 8 week wait, the gentleman said he would call in approximately two weeks with a more solid delivery estimate. Someone I spoke with yesterday said it may...
A friend made that exact comparison today. I've settled for good, Paul Bond it is. Well known maker, shorter wait, and if it doesn't work out I think they accept returns on the stock boots. If not, there's always a market for them on eBay.
Only decision now is heel height. 1 5/8" or 2 1/4"...
Man, I'm really frustrating myself with this. I wish one of the boot makers had told me something horrible so my decision would be easier, but they both have good and not so good points.
The Paul Bond boots in looking at are a stock boot, which means no custom sizing. I'm usually a 12D, so I...
I bought a wood stretcher off Amazon and noticed exactly that. The back was fine, but the front was way too wide. I narrowed it with a saw and then rasped it back into shape. It fits my everyday hat to a T, so hopefully it'll get this one back into shape.
