The last No.1 MK III I picked up a couple of years ago was a 1943 dated Australian Lithgow Arsenal rifle. Someone had Sporterized the forearm, but the metal looked good and the receiver was milled to accept a magazine cutoff. After some begging on the Enfield Collectors Forum for a cutoff and...
Oh, this reignites an old passion...I must have one.
Next month, when my bank account has had a little time to recover from the workout I've just given it.
Cheers!
A bit late, but for those interested, I finally swapped out the round waxed laces on mine with a pair of plain flat brown ones and they look great. Mine were 36 inch length, but 40 inch will work perfectly if you don't want a lot of excess flopping around after tying the knot. But don't do this...
My understanding has always been that pure cotton canvas woven tightly enough is already as water resistant as is necessary to get the job done. The fibers swell as they get wet and close off. That's why one never touched the inside of an old style canvas tent when it was raining unless one...
Mmmm, elk...
I had a wonderful bit of elk tenderloin up in Colorado a couple of weeks ago. I didn't claw my way to top of the food chain to end up eating tofu (or skunk, for that matter)!
Cheers!
SUCCESS!!!
Just got back from my local BB&B and it was the brushless shave cream in the fat green and white plastic tube. There were three on the shelf and I grabbed all of them. Also picked up two packs of the Wilkinson Sword blades.
Thanks for the tip, Mid-Fogey. :eusa_clap
Cheers...
Intriguing. I suppose as long as it doesn't "print" like a concealed weapon through one's jacket you'd be fine. Just don't make any fast moves around a cop. And be d*** certain not to use a ring tone that includes gunshots! lol
Cheers!
While the retro handsets look cool (and I may have to get that WE 302 bluetooth version for use at home), I would think they'd complicate the carry issue while out and about. I mean, where do you stash the handset when you're not using it? Cripes, it's bigger than the phone itself! It seems a...
Hello, and welcome to the forum. If you haven't tried the search function yet, you might give it a go and see if this subject hasn't already been covered.
But to take a whack at answering your question, nothing ruins the outline of a suit or sports jacket more than a cell phone on the waist...
Are you referring to the brushless shave cream? Do you recall if the tube had green printing?
If so, I'm making a trip the the nearest location. All my usual sources stopped stocking it 3 or 4 months ago for some reason. I thought they'd discontinued it.
Cheers!
Deno's...why does that name sound familiar? I'm going to date the heck out of myself, but back in the 70s there was a shoe repair place that also did clothing alterations that was up Preston Road near Northwest Highway, in Preston Center. Waaaay back then I worked nearby for a men's clothing...
Paddy, I'm coming a bit late to this thread, but to provide some context, in 1988 or 89, I worked for a clothing store that had one of Burberry's' first "shops" in the South Central U.S. We sold both the original British made 100% cotton gab DB model and the -- then new -- U.S. made poly cotton...
