    Wolfbrae Custom Hatters

Well, here it is. I did post in the What Hat are You Wearing Today section, but thought it appropriate to post here also. The Pecan color is very nice - seems to change with the light. A job well done by Robert G.

    Wolfbrae Custom Hatters

Hey Guys, That's MY hat that Robert so custom made. Got it last night and the fit, color and workmanship are superb - as expected. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get a chance, but just trying to figure out what I will order for hat number 2. In the meantime, color me impressed!

    Couple of hats

Thanks for the kind words, but I simply don't wear them anymore.

    Couple of hats

I have these two hats ready to sell - very nice hats, just not my style any more, hence both have seen almost no actual wearings. Both bought at JJ Hats, NYC a few years ago. The first is very similar to this one - The Monterrey but mine has a 2 3/4" brim, not a 3"brim...

Actually, the one in my pic is a Filson-Steson collaboration, which thinking more about it, means almost nothing but adds about $85.00 to the price. BTW, I am not that adverse to wide brimmed hats, see below Miller Campaign Hat, but have to think it through a bit more. Considering a custom made...

Good points. Any suggestions for a custom hatmaker - that doesn't have a 6 month backlog?

Good points about Alan, classy looking guy with a keen sense of style and he coordinates his hats with the other clothes he is wearing. But I also wonder for the very widest of brims he sports for viewing here on the forum, whether they would "work" as "naturally" for regular street wear. Maybe...

Good points and well stated. While "style/apparel" rules are meant to be broken; I often do, I still think there needs to a proper sense of proportion - especially in fedoras - at least for me. I'll give an exaggerated example - a Western hat that looks just perfect on Clint Eastwood, Gary...

Thanks. See my response to belfastboy above. I also am not sure I'm liking that color too much, but that also depends on the color of shirt or jacket worn with it.

Good points about the brim width (and the same for crown height). I also think that a person's height and "physicality" have a lot to do with it. And I say that as a fairly short guy -5'6". The first fedora I ever bought ~ early 1990's was the Borsalino Alexandria. Stunning, well made fedora...

Yep, I actually did that a few years ago with a similar hat in silverbelly and when I recently tried it on, I think I errored on the trimming and had them take off a wee bit too much...

Thank you. I have been wearing fedoras on and off - mostly off for over 25 years and agree 100% with you on that.

It would be for sun protection, simple street ware and a nice style.
