    Sept`07 Dancingw/theStars

Oops, forgot about the last one. Didn't get to watch it, so it escaped my mind. But my thought is still that they're trying to give the other professional girl dancers a chance to win.

    Sept`07 Dancingw/theStars

Honestly, they're probably trying to stop Cheryl from winning 3 times in a row. Putting her with the "old guy" pretty much puts her out of the running. Which I'm sure the other dancers appreciate! Although I very much enjoy her too. She doesn't look as snooty as some of the other dancers.

    Buyer's Remorse

Hmm. Well, I'm trying both the wave iron and the bonnet on Thursday when my son's father has him and I've got some time to myself. I'll let everyone know the results! I've kept the receipt so I should be able to return it if it's no good.

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Although it's technically not a movie, this weekend I finally got Season 1 of Alfred Hitchcock Presents from Blockbuster online. It had been on my waiting list FOREVER--I guess it's pretty popular. I had remembered seeing a rerun of "Breakdown" when I was young. I love the twist endings...

    oily hair....

The name of the product from Sally's was Batiste dry shampoo, but it is a spray, not the powder kind. They had a couple of other products too, but that was the one I picked to try. As I said, I'll let you know how it works for me. :)

    Buyer's Remorse

Lolita: thanks for the hints. Perhaps I have been using them wrong. I wonder if there's a source out there on how to properly use them to set the waves. Ashley: Great! That's the wave iron that I bought! This makes me feel a little better about the purchase. And holding a hand dryer...

    Buyer's Remorse

The waving iron was available in two sizes at Sally's. One provided (in the picture on the box anyway) almost crimp-like waves. The one I got had barrels twice as big as that one, although it was more expensive. The box picture showed large waves. I've never seen any vintage dryers at...

    Thanks Fedorites!

I'm grateful for the advice on finding my perfect red lipstick (Russian Red by MAC); how to make a hair rat to give my rolls more volume; tricks and tips on doing hair in general; compliments on my baby; and a chance to have a discussion about philosophy.

    Favorite Cartoons from your Childhood

Here's a question for all of you. I remember an animated short, I think it appeared before an old movie, but I can't remember which one. It involved a child having a dream where he goes to a land of sweets that are all dancing around. I specifically remember the angel food cake and the...

    Buyer's Remorse

She's the reason I had decided to try it because she mentioned she had the same problem with finger waves and wave clips. But then I thought, I'd ask you ladies and see what your experience was. Well, perhaps I can take it out of the box and give it a try and if it doesn't work I can just slip...

    oily hair....

lol I was just trying to remember that so I could edit my post. I'm at work right now (and obviously not working!) so I'll have to check for you when I get home. I'll post it this evening.

    Games of Chance!

I like to watch the table games too, but I once spent an hour watching a craps table, and I still have no idea what was happening lol I've been to Vegas twice for Viva Las Vegas and had a good time, but mostly I stick to penny slots myself. I don't expect to win, but I get a few hours of...

    oily hair....

I have the same problem with very oily hair. I recently read in the new Sephora catalog about a product made by Ojon that sprays in and then can be brushed out to refresh dirty hair. I went to Sally's Beauty supply and picked up a similar product (although much cheaper). I'm planning on...

    Buyer's Remorse

Hi gals, Well, I went to Sally's Beauty Supply yesterday and spent waaaay too much money on hair goodies. My two biggest purchases were a wave iron and a bonnet hair dryer. Now I'm having some buyer's remorse about spending so much, so I want to make sure the purchases are worth it. I...

the *stigma* with wearing red lipstick

Not to put a damper on your glow hopes, MarieAnne, but my skin got much worse when I was pregnant. I guess because my hormones were in overdrive. But, perhaps yours will stabilize soon and your skin will clear. I'd also try some green concealer to combat redness in your trouble spots. One...

New Ladies and Gents Step Forward

Why, thank you! He's mine, but I rent him out on weekends for parties and batmitzvahs :p Alas, he is not so tiny anymore... he'll be a year old next month *sigh*.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

But is Maria Bello going to do an English accent? I know this has been talked about in other threads (Dick Van Dyke:D ) but I find that most Americans do a horrible English accent. And a bad accent can ruin a movie for me.

New Ladies and Gents Step Forward

OH, I wish I could go to a UK event! I spent 6 weeks in the UK in the summer of 2003 and had the best time of my life. *sigh* Perhaps one of you ladies will let me pack myself into a trunk and ship myself over to visit you one day :)

Credo of the new Vintage Lady

I heartily agree! (hence the "all shapes and sizes") To me, surgically enhancing your "assets" never really helps your self-esteem either. I remember watching the TV show The Swan and being horrified.
