My wardrobe advisor (a.k.a., wife) has told me that caps are a no go. However, I'll show her this thread and maybe she'll reverse her position. Personally, I think that she just doesn't want me to buy more hats. Is 18 fedoras too much? I think not! -

I have close to twenty fedoras in my growing collection, ranging from western style to dress formal. I always wear a hat now and people that know me expect it. I wear them with every possible combination of attire. It's a matter of confidence. I always try to, however, attempt a little color... -

Art Fawcett is making me a hat!
I feel the sweet spot for brim sizes for the majority of people run from 2 1/4" to 2 1/2". As for black hats making your look older, I think that might have some truth to it but it can relate to racial features. I have classic Italian lines and looks, so those dark hats give me that old world... -
