Travel in style (Sucess on the horizon...?)

Excellent - it just keeps getting better and better. My only slight dilema now is regarding sizing - should I am around a 36/37 chest so dont know whether to go with their small size (34-36) or their medium size (38-40). Which is going to be a better fit for this type of garment do you...

Travel in style (Sucess on the horizon...?)

Thanks for the warning about the price. I'll bear that in mind. I just really like the look and style of it. What should I be looking for instead? What kind of sites or terms to search under? Ken

    Connery's "Allan Quatermain" Vest

Kodiak I think the key is that as a vest/waistcoat the garment is more straightforward. Adding sleeves makes it an entirely different garment. Think about Indy jackets and all the issues of gussets, jackets riding up, pleats, etc. Also if you start adding sleeves then maybe someone else...

    The Mummy clothes

Ooohhh. Thanks Nick. I like the look of the Wahmaker ones. Always meant to get one of their Duster coats at some point as well. Ken

    Connery's "Allan Quatermain" Vest

Well waistcoat is definitly the term I would use, but I used that when over in the states and people looked at me like I was Irish or something... oh wait a minute :) Ken

    The Mummy clothes

Its something I also noticed on Quatermain in League of Extraordinary Gentlement and Manco in A Few Dollars More. The link could be guns I guess... BTW Hemmingway I am thinking I might go with the orvis all the same - for a Safari style, excepting the Indy shirt of couse, its supposed to be a...

    Connery's "Allan Quatermain" Vest

    Beater Brotherhood

Here's my beater hat - its been through everything with me. Its a Keppler. Might have to retire it now though purely for sentimental reasons. (click for bigger pic) <a href="http://img115.imageshack.us/my.php?image=copyofimg00802nm.jpg" target="_blank"><img...

    The Mummy clothes

Nice. Not sure if I want to replicate everything- guns, holster etc. Really just liked the overall look though. The neckerchief and shirt I really liked as a look. Maybe with suspenders would work instead of the holsters, or with a backpack maybe yet be more practical for use in everydaay...

Travel in style (Sucess on the horizon...?)

Where can I get something like this without the price tag? http://www.orvis.com/store/product_choice.asp?pf_id=84X3&dir_id=885&group_id=920&cat_id=5938&subcat_id=8228 I just love the whole concept of this. Ken

    Connery's "Allan Quatermain" Vest

I must say personally I would prefer to go with Wested. They make a top quality product at a good price. They almost always deliver on time and have a guarantee they stand by. US Wings on the other hand I have had horrible problems with. I bought an 'Indy' jacket from them once when they...

    The Mummy clothes

Hemmingway that looks like exactly what I need - I just wish they did a small size!! Grrrr. Ken PS - is it standard to have stone colored buttons on a white shirt?

Also would it be worth posting this over at Club Obi Wan as well? I imagine there would be some interest over there as well. Ken

Here are some more images, since I dont think so many people (like myself) have the DVDs here. Also some are enlargements of what mycroft posted: Ken

    Connery's "Allan Quatermain" Vest

Baggers You know I am coming round to the idea of maybe making some means of fastening the vest - but I dont want it to detract from the look of it. Do you think maybe there is a way of having some kind of hidden closure on the inside, but that you dont see from the outside, and also wouldn't...
