First time buying fedora and introducing myself

That would be an excellent bonus for me too. What about Antelope Felt Hat you mention before, does it have snap brim?

Wow, pictures really helps to understand a lot better hat anatomy then just words on forum. I think you got me sold with that, before I wasn't sure which one should between Fed IV and Campdraft, but now I'm pretty sure I will take the latter. Thanks once again, you and all participants in this...

Nice, same height as me. Thanks for that, now I have a good example of a big guy wearing a wider brimmed fedora and I must say that it looks better than I imagined and in good proportion for a height!

Thank you, that was information I was looking for. Between Camp Draft and Fed IV, it's a hard decision, but I'm leaning a little bit more to the first one.

You know what, you are right. Personalty I prefer Akubras over them but if I would order from Germany shipping would be cheap, and I won't need to pay customs. Still, I think even if I order from Australia it shouldn't cost so much more than from Germany, but the hat would definitely serve me...

Nice, thanks a lot for that! They look beautiful. How would you compare them with Akubras quality wise? I would also like to know how they behave in the rain and how much to expect shrinkage to occur?

Damm Mike Mazurki fedora looks pretty wide from what I can see, what's your estimate how wide it is?

I'm afraid you're right, I'm slowly becoming obsessed with soft felt hats, even though I don't have any yet :D

Thank you T Jones for your recommendation, you are right, from Akubra I am looking between Fed IV and Campdraft, but I will see if I decide to go for either of these two.

First time buying fedora and introducing myself

I would gladly buy a vintage hat but lets me honest, it would be hard to find one in size 61 in the USA and even harder in Europe where I am from. For a first hat, I was looking to buy from Hutbreiter in Germany...

First time buying fedora and introducing myself

So what would be maximum fedora width for let's say for a golden age decade? I know Americans and even so more British were conservative with the brim widths, but I saw one photo of Australians in the 30s from this forum with on average bigger brims, even for a dress fedora, was this a regional...

Vintage G1 Mil Spec jacket - worth buying or not?

Thanks a lot, both of you, I learned a lot more that I originally knew. I read yesterday some more history of G1 and you are correct, will pass on this one. Maybe one more question regarding G1, I have another options for around €200, it's not MIL SPEC, but it's US Wings G1. Would you think €200...

Vintage G1 Mil Spec jacket - worth buying or not?

As already stated in the title, I have a chance of buying genuine Mil Spec G1 jacket for €200, but I am not sure if it's worth it? I know that G-1 MIL-J-7823E series of jackets dated from 1969 to present, but I don't know how can I determine by the label from which exact year the jacket was...

Would someone be willing to exchange Austrian army jumper size 6 for size 5 if there's a chance it's too big for you and maybe 5 would fit you better. Unfortunately 5 doesn't fit me anymore as it should and would rather exchange for 6 with someone. Please let me know. Btw mine is 100% wool, OG...

What parka did legendary Dick Proenneke wear?

I would like to recreate his parka look, in my opinion it looks really cool, very minimalist but I am getting expedition vibe from it. What brand or type of parka should bring me closest to his one?
