Wow! I am glad you posted it, because I had missed it completely! Thanks!
Happy that my Cards are playing better in the dogfight that is the NL Central.
Took a couple scatterguns to the range today, a Remington 11 in 16 Gauge and a Stoeger Coach Gun in 12. Both ran well, but I am not used to shooting shotguns as much as I used to! After about a box and a half of light field loads, I was done!
Welcome to the joint MB!
Well, got about medium rare on the range yesterday, shot three .32s. A Colt, H&R and an Iver Johnson. Was not a fair comparison, the Colt and H&R were both basket case rebuilds and the IJ was well cared for, with the Colt sporting a 6" barrel, the H&R a 2' and the IH a...
What surprised me is that the standard grip feels much better in my hand than the standard grips on the S&W N frames. Going to try to find a grip adapter for it and see how that feels in my oversize paw.
Dave, most Pavonas have a very nice molded in pattern on the frames. Looks like someone has already painted over it. Is there anyway to strip that OD paint off and see what is underneath first?
Yikes, I gotta slow down. I wound up doing some more swapping and wound up with a totally sad little mud puppy Colt Pocket Positive in .32 Colt Police. The poor little gun had been bounced around quite a bit, grips broken, held on by electrical tape and had not been cleaned or oiled in decades...
Well, strange week last week. I found a Vaquero in .45 Colt and worked out a trade with a very nice fellow in CA. Went to my LGS to fill out the paperwork and they had 2 more guns that I wound up swapping for as well! I had been wanting another Mauser HSc for a while and they had a nice one in...
Found out the Hi Power I got a few weeks ago came from Israel. Probably started out IDF then would have been issued to their Police. An interesting history. Now, I am undecided again, I had decided to strip and refinsh it, now I'm not so sure, I have several friends in the IDF.
Busting up a DP has always been an art. The rule should have been "Intentionally causing injury" if you are worried about collisions.
Now if my Cardinals could figure out how to be consistent, I would be much happier!
Oh, let me get your opinions on this. I am doing a Zoot Shooting blog and will be discussing the different cartridges available for the sport. I will be putting comparison pics in this, using a .45 ACP and .38 Special rounds for the comparisons. do either of the following pics have a real...
ISW, it seems weird that you can buy .44 Magnum ammo cheaper most places than .44 Special. I have some of these folks' .44 Special on order right now, for the price I hope it runs well in my S&Ws.

Well got some new grips on the Hi Power, next step, sand blasting and refinishing. I don't usually refinish original guns, but this one seems to be ready for it.
