80's!?!
Oh..My...God!! I can't believe I used to dress like that. Tried that look for a while back in the day. It just didn't take. So I had gone with the 50's Fonz look. Seemed to fit me better back then. Of course kids today are calling the 80's retro or vintage. Go figure.
Cheers...
How many of you have enjoyed this film?
It was one of those films that made me love the B-17 Bomber. Since I was a kid I've loved this film. Didn't get the message until I was an adult though. The visuals, the story and the characters were great.
Cheers!

This week TCM has a theme of Makeup in the Moves. Should be showing some interesting films like the Seven Faces of Dr. Lao, Raging Bull & Phantom of the Opera. They will be also showing the life of Lon Chaney Thursday night.

You're right about that Michaelson. Lee Marvin always brought a better something to his roles. Although Death Hunt wasn't a masterpiece, both Lee Marvin & Charles Bronson made it quite enjoyable. I'll have to make sure I check out Emperor of the North.
Cheers!

Sorry, but it won't be joining mine. Spielberg took a good bump in the night story and made the audience not care. It just fee on it's face. The box office numbers were high, but I think it was because of all the Tom Cruze hype before it ever came out. Oh well, live and learn.
Now, has anyone...
I had bought it back in 1986 when I was wearing a size 40 in high school. Planned on wearing it for a long time. I didn't think that I would ever get bigger or that I would ever wear an XL anything. But then the bodybuilding bug bit and now I wear a size 48+. It's amazing how the shoulders grow...
That, and since movies are so expensive these days, I not one for wasting a buck by walking out. I watched Battlefield Earth all the way through and it has to be the worst thing since Plan 9 from Outerspace.
I'm quite sure that this version of King Kong will be very good. Peter Jackson took...
A good ghost story...
I think that's what I liked about the 1953 version. It played on your emotions. That movie was a very mental film. It had that element of the Red Scare behind it, but it was more than just that. It was a boggie man bump in the night movie. It played on your fears more than...
Yep, like the English Patient. Now that was a painful experience. I have never been so bored for so long before or since. I'm quite sure Peter Jackson's offering will be well received. I mean, Andy Serkis as Kink Kong and Lumpy the cook? How could you go wrong?:)
Fairly similar looking eh...
I've owned two Schott Bros jackets in my life. Both I've outgrown, but I still own one of them. The first was an A2 style jacket but had the zipped cargo pocket instead of the flap. Wore like iron and I passed it on to a friend who happend to be much smaller than I. The other was their sheepskin...
A dickie is a fake turtle neck sweater. You have the collar and a bit of fabric front and back and that's about it. Like some have already said, all you can picture is Cousin Eddie Johnson from Christmas Vacation in a black dickie under a white shirt. And it's hard to hide the fact that you're...
I'd have to say I like that one better thant the Tom Cruz version. It may have been a bit campy but the story line was much more enjoyable. I just couldn't get into the new one or feel any emotion for the characters. Dakota Fanning did a good job but it wasn't enough to carry the film. Granted...
Back in the day...
Abercrombie and Fitch was known for great sports wear, especially their swimming shorts. Of course now all you see is the useless schlock that they peddle. But I guess that is the way of most clothing makers that have been around too long.
Cheers!
