Can anyone compare Akubra‘s color Moonstone to Stetsons Caribou? I’ve been fiending for an OR type hat in gray and am leaning toward the Moonstone CD vs the modern OR or Premier Strat.. (especially for theprice). I can find a bunch of separate photos of each, but the lighting makes it impossible...- Telemaster

Thanks... it’s not exactly from a sought after period, but it looks and feels quite nice. I expected it to be cowboy-stiff, but it’s actually softer than that. I don’t have a modern Royal Deluxe OR but I’ve tried a few on in stores. If memory serves, this feels that kind of soft.- Telemaster

Last time I flew over from the states I had two hats boxed together with the box then inside my suitcase with clothes and stuff around as de facto padding. That was in checked luggage. On the plane I wore a third hat during takeoff. Once things calmed down and leveled off, I put it in a cloth...- Telemaster

The Other Open Roads.....
I think counts as an “other”. The felt is a pale gray... probably dove I guess. It super thin and light. I have honestly never experienced a felt like this. I’m not even sure how to go about creasing it, it’s puts up zero fight.- Telemaster
