I'm at a loss as to why button-down shirts exist and are considered more casual. Did this perhaps make more sense when collars were expected to be kept more rigid? Could anyone explain? Thanks.
I learned it as black suits being reserved only for formal events, but I see a fair amount of black suits worn in everyday usage. Do I have the wrong idea here?
This isn't something I could see myself wearing but, I saw photos of a few and wondered: what's the opinion on Nehru jackets now that the '60s are over? Were they basically just a hipster/hippie thing during that era?
What contemporary stores or lines do people here shop at? I don't have the time or knowledge of stores to go vintage, but I far prefer older styles and tailoring to what's available in most stores today.
