Vintage or Tumbled Horse Hide ? Who knows the different ??

....and that was my first thought ... Its funny - some find it thinner others find it thicker - perhaps it depends what hide is currently available. How can I be sure if I have a special hide request - e.g. very light in color and thin or very haevy and dark in color - that after 6 month...

Vintage or Tumbled Horse Hide ? Who knows the different ??

For what I've read the VINTAGE FQHH goes through a longer tumbling process to bring out more grain and soften up the hide ....so far But what is TUMBLED Horse Hide - do they only replaced the name Vintage into tumbling or is it a much more longer tumbling process untill the Hide is screaming...

    Aero highwayman arrived

Thanks Worf - yes I am very happy with it - its the standard AERO Windward model without any modifications - this is how an old man (over 50) is looking in short leather jacket...:) The 61ST FTR SQDN which I like is not sewn on the jacket just playing around with my computer. . . . ;) I...

    Aero highwayman arrived

Thanks Sloan1874 for your comments and opinion... thanks Fanch for the pic ... interesting to see those comparison. Its funny but in my suit jackets I find the sleeves often too long because you have to see enough of the cuffs of shirt. Happy seasons to all of you and your family.

YEP - Bills Khakis is the one and only for me - fabric, fit, drape is outstanding ... heavy cotton drill and heavy FQ Horsehide are the best matching. I've got several Bills Khakis mostly in color khaki and british khaki which ages very nice like your old blue jeans - The Bullard with 10,5 oz...

Great Jacket and good choice to go for the vintage FQHH - also got one Windward in black (and brown) Vintage FQHH and its always a joy to look at the grain and wear it. Also like your combination with Chinos/Khakis - special in the "britsh khaki" color you're wearing. BTW: Since I found that no...

    New 30´s jacket

Interesting - without handwarmer pockets! - Well, I use (and need) mine very often despite the fact that I got two breast pockets. I like the clean look of the back - most of the halfbelt position looks too high for my taste - think it'll look much better on tall guys.

Brown FQHH vs. Vintage Brown FQHH

Here's my Vintage brown FQHH Windward ... much more grain than my standard FQHH which I sold. For comparison: Before ... and after a little bit pecard ... After a bit of Pecard its still vintage, isn't

Aero Highwayman with mid-weight horsehide:advice requested

Gambetto - never heard of "extra thin" FQHH - mostly have tried to get very thick and heavy hide ... Can you please post pics how it looks ... is it standard FQHH or do you asked for "vintage" cordovan ? (...which is on my wish-list) BTW: My jerky seal hh jacket is great for warmer weather...

Love the Smell of Horsehide on a Summer Evening

Oh yes, I can smell the horsehide ... the jacket looks real great with the midbrown mouton fur collar ... no doubt, absolutely "deluxe" !!! Possibly you can convert the jacket into an "spring - jacket" if you leave the studded cuffs open ... just a thought.

    Lining choice opinions

I feel a "bit warmer" in the heavy cotton drill than in the more refined cotton poplin ... I love both ... but for my next jacket I would take the refined cotton. For chilly weather I have alpaca and shearling lining to keep me warm and cosy.
