I have Lost Worlds ventile jacket and contrary to popular belief, ventile has the ability to absorb water to some degree (not totally waterproof). For light shower, the jacket will do fine however not under big rainy day as ventile will absorb the water as normal cotton.
Having said all...
I have an actual 36" chest circumference with 29" waist and standing at 5'7". My build is slim but a bit stocky.
Throughout "trials and errors" over the years I found 19.5" armpits would best accommodates me as the chest will fit closer yet not too tight nor loose (I like to wear my clothes...
Seconded all the advises above.
Perhaps a suit can be broken down into fit, cut, fabric, colour, pattern and construction.
IMHO fit, fabric and construction are equally important, after that cut, colour and pattern.
However having said that, in general, fit is the most important factor...

Hi,
I'm a 36S (being a 166cm) and the suit has a loose fit on me but the length is too long. I don't mind with the loose fit as I can bring it to a tailor and tape it down to fit me however with the length, it is harder.

From my...
Hi wonderful people,
I've done a research on leather conditioner based on the knowledge in this forum (I've been amazed on the knowledge sharing practice in this place) and from my limited understanding Lexol is a good non-petroleum leather condition thus I have decided to give a try (it's to...
Great post!
I had a vintage Burton suit (from the 50-60's I believe) in the past and was very happy with the quality, especially on the vintage fabric and looks of it.
If it is a long sleeve safari, then you will be able to get away with it :)
However, seconded the suggestion on wearing dark coloured for evening and lighter colour for morning/afternoon
