I have one of those. The problem is, the small swatch doesn't really accurately show the hat so to speak. In fact, Natural beaver looks completely different when made into a hat compared to one of the small pieces.
Need a bit of help in regards to a new hat...
In the brown family, I own a chocolate and two different natural beaver hats. The manufacturers are Art Fawcett and Northwest Hats.
Now I find myself wearing a lot of brown colors and was thinking of picking up a Silverbelly. The more I am...
I just took ownership of this beauty. 100%Beaver with a long hair finish. This is my third purchase with Mike from Northwest hats out of Eugene, OR. I can’t say enough good things about a Mike and his products.
I agree with you on that. When I sold western hats, the 50-100x were top of the line at that time. Sadly, they were the ones that seem to go limp after one session. I’ve been lucky with my Fawcett and Northwest hats. Of course I haven’t worn them in a downpour, but minimal rain without issue
So without going through all 4 pages, why use Scotchguard on pure beaver? Is that not one of the benefits of owning 100% beaver, in that it is water resistant? I definitely see the application for wool felt or perhaps blends.
So I am travelling to a Caribean Island in a few weeks. I cant take a hat box as a carry on, but I want to take my straw hat with me. Im 6'3" so stowing it on the floor of my foot area isnt an option either. Do you know if I could give it to one of the flight attendants for safe keeping, or...
I tried a search, but couldn’t find anything specific. I was wondering if there is a thread that shows off some of the ribbon work in hats? I have another custom coming up, and need some bow suggestions. Not really a fan of gills.
I was impressed with the sample he had in the shop, when i picked up my last hat. Despite it looking so fancy, I still think i can get away with it being an every day hat.
I just received my first Northwest hat. It sure is a beauty. It was a pleasure dealing with Mike, and I am already back on his waiting list for my next hat.
Granite grey in beaver felt. 5 1/2" open crown with teardrop crease. 1 3/4" charcoal grey ribbon with classic bow. 2 5/8" snap brim...
This one was quite the pain in the butt to tie. It is a Carrot & Gibbs, but the silk is much thinner than I am use too. Trying to get the sides even was pretty difficult. What you see is how I left it for charm.
